Kamala Harris wants nothing more than for her Presidential campaign to continue avoiding any press conferences, media appearances, and even debates.
She knows that the moment she faces just a smidge of scrutiny, she’ll be unmasked for good.
And John Fetterman just made a statement that will have Kamala Harris coming unglued.
Fetterman rains on Kamala’s parade
With the Presidential race now a dead heat between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, all eyes are on battleground states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, and a few others.
But no battleground state may be more important than Pennsylvania, which has been highlighted by many election analysts and pollsters as a potential bellwether state.
The Keystone State has played a crucial role in the past two Presidential elections, with Trump winning the state by roughly 45,000 votes on his way to victory in 2016 and President Joe Biden winning it in 2020 by around 78,000 votes.
And with FiveThirtyEight and other polling outlets now indicating that Kamala has a slight lead in Pennsylvania, many Democrats have begun to suggest that she could be on the way to running away with November’s election.
Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) is not one of those Democrats, though.
In a recent interview with Newsmax’ Greta Van Susteren, Fetterman reiterated his belief that the 2024 Presidential race will come down to the wire.
“Of course, it’s gonna be close, but I’ve been maintaining that whether it’s Biden, whether it was Clinton, or whether now it’s with Vice President Harris, it’s gonna be very close, and I do believe she’s gonna prevail,” Fetterman told Van Susteren.
The Democrat Senator went on to suggest that whether it’s Pennsylvania, Arizona, or others, the race will be particularly close in battleground states.
“This is gonna be a close race just like it was in ’20, and definitely like it was in 2016 there too,” Fetterman explained. “I’m not expecting that it’s gonna be a blowout in any of those kinds of states, like Georgia, or whether in Arizona or any of those ones – the states that are gonna decide who’s gonna be the next President. It’s gonna be close, and I think the argument and the kind of record Harris is bringing to this is going to be able to prevail in all of that.”
But Fetterman’s idea that Kamala can win such a close race on her record is obviously not shared by the rest of her fellow Democrats and campaign – not to mention their media allies.
It’s the economy, stupid
Harris has been flying high for nearly four weeks now solely because she’s avoided any non-scripted public appearances, press conferences, or media interviews and has been able to flip-flop on all of her past policy positions without actually explaining herself.
She’s certainly pulled at least even with Trump in polls – if not taking a slight lead – but it’s all been manufactured by hype from Democrats and their media allies.
So needless to say, should Fetterman’s outlook on the election come to fruition, and Kamala is actually forced to run on her record and positions on the issues, that could cause her big problems.
It’s obviously an outlook Trump and his supporters are hoping plays out, as evidenced by the former President’s recent social media posts about what he believes the race is actually about.
“This Election is about the ECONOMY, INFLATION, OPEN BORDERS (ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION), RESPECT FOR OUR NATION, PREVENTING WORLD WAR lll AND A 1929 STYLE DEPRESSION!” Trump wrote on Truth Social recently.
Despite Kamala’s rise, polls continue to show that Trump still leads his Democrat opponent when it comes to whom voters trust on the issues that they say matter most to them – the economy, inflation, and the Biden-Harris border crisis.
Case in point, a recent CNBC poll indicated that Trump has a two-to-one lead over Kamala on the question of who voters believe will make them more financially well-off as President.
Put simply, Trump and his campaign must adopt the moto legendary Democrat political strategist James Carville utilized during the political masterclass he put on as former President Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign architect – “it’s the economy, stupid.”
No more talking about the size of Kamla’s crowds, her racial identity, the Democrats’ coup against Biden, or anything else that doesn’t involve the meat-and-potato issues that voters actually care about and will be used to determine their vote.
With less than 80 days left until Election Day, it’s time for Donald Trump to get down to brass tacks and focus on what will truly win him this race – the issues.
