Senator John Fetterman’s talent is unparalleled when it comes to feeding the rumor mill, and his latest comment sparked a fresh scandal over the state of his health.
Fetterman appeared to be emerging from a cloud of uncertainty that hung over him after 18 months of major health struggles that had many Americans questioning whether he had any business being in office.
Now he’s in all kinds of trouble after cracking a joke that fell flat with the radical activist base that drives so much of the Left’s agenda.
The socialist Left can usually count on Fetterman playing along.
But the Hamas terrorist apologist in his party finally pushed him too far over the attacks in Israel.
The Senator drew fire from the radicals in his party by calling out Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib over pushing Hamas propaganda.
Fetterman then went as far as speaking up against a ceasefire – something seemingly not aimed at protecting lives of the innocent blockaded in Hamas-controlled Gaza, but rather at essentially rewarding Hamas for massacring innocent Israeli civilians.
Now the Democrat just gave his new enemies in his own party ammunition to take him out when a joke fell flat.
Fetterman was forced into a confrontation over his views by a leftist protestor at a campaign event for Pittsburg area county executive candidate Sara Innamorato.
The activist started shouting at Fetterman repeating “Four thousand-plus dead children in Palestine, 9,000-plus dead civilians!” and demanding he “Get off the stage! Get off the stage!”
Rather than making a reasoned argument, Fetterman fired back by claiming that his near fatal stroke last May left him incapable of processing the protestors claims.
“The joke is on you. I had a stroke. I can’t fully understand what you are saying,” Fetterman snarked.

While he was clearly joking, it looks like Fetterman may have given the far Left an opening to go after him for failing to follow in perfect lockstep obedience all the time.
It already started with New Republic’s Tori Otten tearing into the Senator for daring to break with the pro-Hamas caucus.
Otten expressed outrage that those on the Left had defended Fetterman from accusations he was too impaired to serve in office only to have him turn around and use his health as an excuse to deflect an attack from the Left.
“Normally a darling of younger voters and internet users for his quippy reactions, Fetterman’s response this time leaves a bad taste in the mouth. He spent the second half of his campaign and a fair amount of his term fending off rumors that he is mentally and physically incapable of holding office. He can’t have it both ways and use his stroke recovery as an excuse to ignore comments he doesn’t like,” Otten claimed.
Clearly a huge contingent of the political operatives who managed to get—and keep—Fetterman in Congress are suffering from a severe case of buyer’s remorse.
