Clarence Thomas has become target number one for the radical left trying to seize control of the Supreme Court.
They will seemingly use every dirty trick in the book to destroy both Thomas and the entire court.
But Democrats ran into a roadblock in the name of Justice Samuel Alito who shut down their scheme to take out Clarence Thomas.
The radical Left, under the guise of the Democrat Party, control the executive branch, most of Congress, and are now ramping up their attacks on the U.S. Supreme Court.
And to seize the high court, they are making a concerted effort to destroy Justice Clarence Thomas.
The Left can’t stand that the Court’s conservative majority has delivered victory after victory for the Constitution and the rule of law.
The Democrats can no longer count on a court system that will just rubber stamp their radical and unconstitutional legislation and programs.
That’s why they are trying to both expand and pack the court and destroy Clarence Thomas.
Thomas is the target of a well-orchestrated smear campaign based on bogus and laughable reports from left-wing outlet ProPublica.
The radical publication has accused Thomas of being corrupt for receiving vacations paid for by a longtime friend.
Of course, the problem is that nothing contained in the allegations violates any judicial ethics, let alone laws.
But that didn’t stop ProPublica from citing Democrat judges and partisan “experts” (all of whom are Democrat donors) from making accusations against the conservative jurist.
The left-wing hit piece was then cycled into the mainstream media.
Then, Congressional Democrats used those media reports to call for a new code of conduct for the Supreme Court.
But the code of conduct they are trying to install would unfairly target Thomas and the other conservative Justices.
Democrats are using this new code and the inevitable “violations” of it to begin the process of packing the court with new left-wing Justices who will do their bidding.
But Justice Samuel Alito weighed in on the potential Congressional-created ethics code in the Wall Street Journal.
Alito pointed out the fact that Congress doesn’t have the “authority” in the Constitution to regulate the Supreme Court.
“I know this is a controversial view, but I’m willing to say it,” Alito said. “No provision in the Constitution gives them the authority to regulate the Supreme Court—period.”
While the ethics code isn’t likely to pass in this current Congress, it’s just the first shot in what is likely to be a long fight by Democrats to radically alter the high court.
Alito was subjected to his own ProPublica hit piece for accepting a seat on a fishing trip to Alaska.
Of course, the leftist publication didn’t point out the fact that it was a seat that would have been empty had Alito not gone.
Alito said Supreme Court Justices usually don’t respond to such attacks but “at a certain point I’ve said to myself, nobody else is going to do this, so I have to defend myself.”
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has called for Thomas to be impeached over the ProPublica story.
Ocasio-Cortez threw one of her classic temper tantrums over Alito’s comments.
“What a surprise, guy who is supposed to enforce checks and balances thinks checks shouldn’t apply to him,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on social media. “Too bad! Corruption and abuse of power must be stopped, no matter the source. In fact, the court should be *most* subject to scrutiny, bc it is unelected & life appointed.”
But not surprisingly, Ocasio-Cortez was silent about Democrat-appointed Justices who, over the years, took hundreds of trips paid for by mega Democrat donors.
