Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito brought the full fury of the Left literally to his doorstep when he took the lead in overturning Roe v. Wade.
The decision caused all hell to break loose—and nearly got another Conservative Justice assassinated.
But Alito isn’t backing down from what’s right—and he’s calling out an Obama-appointed Justice who just blew through the bounds of her position.
Barack Obama appointee Justice Elena Kagan simply won’t stop griping about the Supreme Court majority finally knocking down Roe v. Wade (decades too late).
Nothing about Roe v. Wade made logical or legal sense in the first place.
It was simply a decision by some rogue justices who decided to cave to leftist social pressure in the 70s and create “rights” out of thin air.
Now Kagan is jumping on the leftist bandwagon claiming that any aspect of the government outside of Democrats’ control can’t possibly be legitimate.
In fact, Kagan is basically claiming that because Democrats lost a single court case, we might as well throw out that entire branch of government.
“The very worst moments [in the Court’s history] have been times when judges have even essentially reflected one party’s or one ideology’s set of views in their legal decisions,” Kagan argued. “The thing that builds up reservoirs of public confidence is the Court acting like a court and not acting like an extension of the political process.”
Yet, she conveniently overlooked the fact that the Supreme Court’s decision—which had no precedent—allowing unborn babies to be killed was exactly that as they catered to a specific party and ideological viewpoint.
“If, over time, the Court loses all connection with the public and with public sentiment, that is a dangerous thing for democracy,” Kagan went on to claim.
Kagan’s comments were too much for even Chief Justice John Roberts—the Bush appointee who ended up being center-left—to ignore.
Even though Roberts voted with the leftist Justices to keep Roe v. Wade in effect, he mildly reprimanded Kagan.
“Simply because people disagree with an opinion is not a basis for questioning the legitimacy of the Court,” Roberts said.
Justice Alito’s response had a bit more bite to it as he pointed out that she’s way out of bounds with her claim that the Court is illegitimate simply because the majority made a decision she disagrees with.
“It goes without saying that everyone is free to express disagreement with our decisions and to criticize our reasoning as they see fit,” Alito stated. “But saying or implying that the Court is becoming an illegitimate institution or questioning our integrity crosses an important line.”
Democrats like to pretend they’re committed to protecting American democracy.
But the truth is that they are willing to do whatever it takes to push their twisted agenda—even if that involves destroying the entire system of government that has protected American’s rights for generations.
Democrats couldn’t care less what the Constitution has to say if it’s not going to help their case.
In fact, left wing extremists would love to abolish the Electoral College, ban the filibuster, and pack the Supreme Court with hand-picked activist central planners who would issue decrees serving their cause.
And if they get their way we’ll be living in a dystopian nightmare with an all-powerful authoritarian one-party federal government controlling our every move.
