The Biden administration has turned into something of a three-ring circus.
Thanks to Republican RINO failures, Democrats pulled through the Midterm elections mostly unscathed.
While they lost the House, they managed to keep their narrow hold on the Senate and have two more years before the White House is back in play.
But with numerous scandals and fumbled responses to disasters the Biden/Harris team is struggling mightily to get a 2024 campaign off the ground.
And now they face a situation more uncertain than ever before.
While Joe Biden is rapidly aging and clearly struggling with dementia, having Kamala Harris at the helm would likely be an even bigger disaster.
Laura Ingraham, of all people, picked up on the tension within the party and has a practical solution.
According to the conservative commentator “worry within the party” is building as Democrats fear Biden is too old for a second term.
Of course, it’s not the president’s age, although he is currently 80 and would be an astonishing 86 by the end of a second term, the real issue is that his mental state has been slipping dramatically over the past few years.
He’s often confused in the middle of his sentence and keeps his handlers on their toes as was illustrated last year when he ended up taking orders from an aid dressed up as the Easter Bunny.
The situation would be different if Democrats had a real backup waiting in the wings, but Vice President Kamala Harris is wildly unpopular.
While Democrats have only been whispering about the problem on the sidelines, Ingraham says the situation is getting out of hand fast.
“The public silence around the president’s predicament has become tiresome and potentially catastrophic for the Democratic Party,” Ingraham pointed out.
“Somebody should make a refreshing nuisance of themselves and involve the voters in this decision,” Ingraham argued. “Now one of the few elected Democrats discouraging a second Biden run is Minnesota’s Congressman, Dean Phillips, who says that the president’s approval rating has many Democrats freaking out. Believe me, there are literally hundreds in Congress, he said, who would say the same thing, but they simply won’t, blank, say a word. There’s also the very real concern about Kamala Harris.”
The Ingraham Angle host then brought a suggestion from a former Clinton Lawyer to light.
“Since it’s possible, of course, that Biden wouldn’t be able to finish a second term, former Clinton lawyer Greg Craig writes Biden should tell his party that he’ll not dictate who will be his running mate, but instead leave it up to the delegates to pick the person who is best equipped to take on that task,” Ingraham explained. “Now, wait a sec. Wait a second. Are they implying that should it be necessary? Understudy Kamala Harris isn’t prepared for the leading role,” she added.
While Democrats are waffling over whether to hold a primary election, it’s obvious they need to be floating real candidates out there before we wake up one day to discover Kamala Harris, in all her word salad glory, is the leader of the free world.
