Even with a friendly crowd, the Biden administration’s lead mouthpiece managed to step in it again.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has had a rougher go than most.
Now the most recent failure, showing her incapable of answering even the simplest of questions, has made a laughingstock in political and media circles.
And her days at the White House Press podium have to be coming to a close after this most-recent catastrophe has things going from bad to worse for the embattled Karine Jean-Pierre.
The Press Secretary, widely-panned as a diversity hire when she first took over, couldn’t even get through a recent interview with Biden’s news network pals on CNN without stepping in it.
During a recent appearance on ‘CNN This Morning,’ Jean-Pierre tried to tout Joe Biden’s speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the one-year anniversary of the Green New Deal scheme.
She claimed the speech was a Biden victory lap over the many benefits Biden’s socialist spending bill allegedly had delivered to the Badger State.
Jean-Pierre attempted to brag that Biden “talked about how the Inflation Reduction Act, and also the bipartisan infrastructure legislation and also the CHIPS and Science Act, all of these important, historic legislation are creating a manufacturing boom . . . You look at Wisconsin, just specifically looking at Wisconsin, $3 billion of companies are investing $3 billion in Wisconsin. 150,000, more than 150,000 jobs were created in the last two years because of the president’s ‘Bidenomics’ right? Because of his economic plan,” Jean-Pierre said.
It took a stunned CNN This Morning host Phil Mattingly a minute to bring the discussion back around to reality.
He noted just how horribly unpopular Joe Biden is in Wisconsin.
“Yeah, I mean, to that point, he’s underwater in Wisconsin. You’re talking about Wisconsin, he’s underwater in Wisconsin,” Mattingly shot back to Jean-Pierre.
Jean-Pierre was having none of that.
She fired back, descending into yet another fantasy land claiming, without citing any evidence of course, that the polls were all biased against President Biden.
“I know and I understand it, but you have to remember, Phil, these are long-term investments, right? These are long-term investments which Americans are going to start to see and as you know, Phil, you know this probably better than I — you’ve covered a couple of administrations at this point — the real polling doesn’t tell the whole entire story. That’s why we are going to continue to tell that story,” Jean-Pierre said.
The most recent Marquette University Law School poll found Trump and Joe Biden tied at 50 percent.
That was an improvement for Trump from June polls showing Biden leading Trump 53 to 47 percent.
Wisconsin is one of the handful of states that will decide the winner of the 2024 presidential election.
And Biden is clearly losing momentum in the state due the economic misery his policies continue to inflict on Wisconsinites.
That’s why Joe Biden’s decision to begin owning “Bidenomics” – which to most Americans represents punishing inflation, supply chain interruptions, and economic stagnation – could be one of the biggest political mistakes of all time.
Karine Jean-Pierre is not doing Biden any favors with her mishandling of the issue.
