After a Mexican drug cartel kidnapped and murdered American citizens in Matamoros, Mexico, Biden’s border crisis is back front and center in the news.
Drug cartels are taking advantage of Biden’s open border to traffick humans and smuggle drugs into the country.
During a White House press briefing, Fox News Channel’s Peter Doocy backed Jean-Pierre into a corner with a question about the growing threat from violent cartels.
“Cartels kill Americans on this side of the border with drugs, and now they’re killing Americans on the other side of the border with guns. Why is President Biden so comfortable with cartels operating so close to the U.S.?” Doocy asked.
Under Biden’s Presidency, fentanyl-related deaths are surging as cartels flood the country with the deadly substance.
Since there is no way for Jean-Pierre to spin the border crisis, she just decided to flat-out lie.
“Because of the work that this President has done, because of what we’ve done specifically on fentanyl at the border, it’s at historic lows, historic levels that we have been able to record a number of personnel working to secure the border because of what we’ve been able to do,” Jean-Pierre replied. “We’ve done it in a historic way, that’s because of what this President has done.”
Of course, this runs counter to officials within Biden’s own regime, as DEA Administrator Anne Milgram admitted that the cartels are “killing Americans with fentanyl at catastrophic and record rates like we’ve never seen before.”
Under Biden, drug overdose deaths crossed the 100,000 threshold for the first time.
The leading cause of death for Americans between 18 and 49 is now fentanyl.
According to data provided by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), in the last Fiscal Year alone the agency seized a record of 14,700 pounds of fentanyl.
However, CBP expects to break that record by the end of the month.
Aside from the amount seized, DEA officials admit even more is smuggled into the country undetected.
But Jean-Pierre claims that Joe Biden is successfully stopping the flow of fentanyl into the country, which is an insult to those whose lives have been ruined or ended by the drug.
Biden’s border crisis is so bad that Jean-Pierre is turning to pure lies to try and cover his tracks.
