Karoline Leavitt Pinpointed One Awful Truth About Minnesota That Democrats Never Saw Coming

Democrat officials running sanctuary cities think they can defy Trump on immigration with zero consequences.

They're finding out the painful way that resistance has a price.

And Karoline Leavitt pinpointed one awful truth about Minnesota that Democrats never saw coming.

White House press secretary exposes real reason behind Minnesota chaos

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shut down reporters trying to attack Trump's immigration enforcement strategy during a recent briefing.

Two journalists hammered her about federal operations in blue cities where local Democrat officials refuse to cooperate with ICE.

Leavitt didn't dodge or sugarcoat the answer.

She pointed straight at Minnesota and exposed exactly what happens when sanctuary politicians put ideology over public safety.

"The escalation that we've seen take place in Minnesota is a direct result of the refusal of state and local officials to cooperate with the federal government and with ICE, which has led to these hostile and dangerous environments," Leavitt stated.

Minnesota became ground zero for Trump's immigration crackdown and the administration's focus on urban crime and political violence from the radical Left.

The Trump administration deployed thousands of federal agents to Minneapolis in Operation Metro Surge starting in December 2025.

Democrat Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have fought the federal operation every step of the way instead of working with ICE to remove criminal illegal aliens from their communities.

The results speak for themselves.

Two fatal shootings by federal agents, daily confrontations between ICE and protesters, schools forced into lockdowns, businesses shuttered, and a city that looks more like a war zone than an American metropolis.

Federal Judge Patrick Schiltz found that ICE violated at least 96 court orders in Minnesota since January 1, 2026.

Over 3,000 arrests during weeks of chaos that included massive protests, a general strike, and violent clashes that cost Minneapolis taxpayers millions in police overtime.

All because Walz and Frey decided sanctuary politics mattered more than protecting their citizens.

The cooperation model that Democrats refuse to accept

Leavitt explained how simple enforcement becomes when local governments actually do their jobs.

"If the states in the local governments just turn over their illegal aliens to ICE at jails, as they should be doing, it requires one agent to deport that one illegal alien, who can then go on their way to their home country in a peaceful manner," Leavitt said.

Instead, sanctuary politicians force ICE to hunt down illegal aliens in neighborhoods using multi-person teams under dangerous circumstances.

That's exactly what created the hostile environment in Minnesota that led to two Americans getting killed by federal agents.

Leavitt pointed to Florida as proof the cooperation model works flawlessly.

"In places like Florida, where there has been the arrest of thousands, tens of thousands, of illegal alien criminals, none of you talk about that, or none of you hear about that, because these operations are going seamlessly and peacefully," she explained.

"Why? Because there is an intimate cooperation between the state government and the federal government, and that's what the President wants to see in all 50 states."

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis worked directly with the Trump administration through Operation Tidal Wave starting in April 2025.

The state arrested over 20,000 illegal aliens in 2025 through close coordination between Florida Highway Patrol, state agencies, and ICE.

No chaos, no protests, no federal agents shooting American citizens in the streets.

Just efficient enforcement that protects communities while respecting constitutional rights.

Florida has 325 agreements in place with ICE under the 287(g) program allowing state officers to work directly with federal immigration authorities.

The state even built detention facilities and funded deportation flights to make the process run smoothly.

That's what leadership looks like when politicians actually care about protecting their citizens instead of virtue signaling to the radical Left.

Democrats choose politics over public safety

When a reporter asked whether ICE would avoid blue cities where Democrat officials openly oppose federal enforcement, Leavitt destroyed the premise of the question.

"Well, first of all, those local officials should be wanting to work with ICE," Leavitt fired back.

"Why would any official, whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, want murderers and predators in your city? It makes zero sense. It's an untenable position."

She called out Democrats for putting anti-Trump hatred ahead of their duty to protect constituents.

"The only reason Democrats are taking that position now is because their entire party platform is just anti Trump," Leavitt stated.

The facts prove Leavitt right.

Research shows sanctuary policies don't prevent the deportation of violent criminals.

But they do force ICE to conduct more dangerous street operations that put agents, illegal aliens, and innocent bystanders at risk.

Walz and Frey watched their city descend into chaos rather than make a simple phone call to coordinate with Tom Homan.

Meanwhile businesses in Minneapolis reported revenue drops of 50-80% because customers were afraid to patronize stores during the federal crackdown.

Minneapolis Police worked over 3,000 hours of overtime in just the first few days of the operation, costing taxpayers more than $2 million.

Schools went into lockdown mode, emergency services were strained, and two Americans died in confrontations that never should have happened.

All because Democrat politicians decided opposing Trump mattered more than keeping their communities safe.

Leavitt made clear the administration won't back down despite local resistance.

"So yes, ICE is going to continue to do their job in cities and communities across the country, but it certainly makes it much easier when we have that level of cooperation and collaboration at the state and local level," she said.

The contrast between Minnesota's chaos and Florida's success proves exactly what Leavitt said.

Sanctuary politicians created the hostile environment in Minneapolis through their refusal to cooperate.

And their constituents are paying the price for their Trump Derangement Syndrome.
