Karoline Leavitt sent self-proclaimed “journalists” over the edge with one reality check they never saw coming

For decades, the so-called “mainstream” media has had a monopoly on shaping the national conversation.

Whatever propaganda narratives they and their Democrat overlords deemed acceptable were forced on the nation while facts and reality were often left by the wayside.

And now Karoline Leavitt sent self-proclaimed “journalists” over the edge with one reality check they never saw coming.

Power to the people

Since 1937, a small cabal of self-proclaimed “journalists” within the “mainstream” media known as the White House Correspondents Association have unilaterally controlled the White House Press Briefing Room and press access to the President of the United States.

They’ve handpicked the “journalists” who are allowed to cover the White House, even going so far as to control where everyone sits in the Press Briefing Room through assigned seating that ensures only specific members of the press are allowed to set the narrative and ask questions.

And, unsurprisingly, with such control over the White House Press Corps, they’ve ensured that the message coming from the so-called “mainstream” always uniformly matches whatever alternate reality Democrats are pushing at the time.

Really, it’s no wonder the American people’s trust in the media has sunk to an unprecedented, historic low.

But as Bob Dylan once said, “the times they are a-changin.”

Under the new Trump administration, the days of the White House Correspondents Association being allowed to grant themselves and their fellow self-proclaimed “journalists” special privileges not available to any news organizations and independent journalists outside their “mainstream” club are officially over.

In a recent announcement, Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leaviitt revealed that the White House Correspondents Association would no longer be allowed to control press access to the President and Oval Office.

“A group of DC-based journalists, the White House Correspondents’ Association, has long dictated which journalists get to ask questions of the President of the United States,” Leavitt said. “Not anymore. Today, I was proud to announce that we are giving the power back to the people.”

The Press Secretary went on to explain that rather than allowing a small cabal of “legacy outlets” that almost no one watches or reads anymore to dictate which journalists could ask questions of the President, the access would be open to all outlets, “mainstream” or otherwise.

“Moving forward, the ‘White House Press Pool’ will be determined by the White House Press Team,” Leavitt continued. “Legacy outlets who have participated in the press pool for decades will still be allowed to join – but we will also be offering the privilege to well-deserving outlets who have never been allowed to share in this awesome responsibility.”

Now Democrats are worried about a “free country?”

But the “mainstream” media didn’t take their loss of unilateral control over the White House Press Corps. very well.

White House Correspondents Association President Eugene Daniels responded to the announcement by claiming that it was somehow an attack on the “free press.”

“This move tears at the independence of a free press in the United States. It suggests the government will choose the journalists who cover the president. In a free country, leaders must not be able to choose their own press corps,” Daniels ranted.

Of course, Daniels offered no explanation as to how a small cabal of left-wing “journalists” holding unilateral control over the White House Press Corps, in any way promotes “the independence of a free press,” or how the Trump administration’s changes in any way prevent any media outlet on Earth from covering the White House in the modern, digital age.

Instead, Daniels claimed the White House Correspondents Association would “never stop advocating for comprehensive access,” even though they’ve spent decades blocking any and all “access” for any journalist who wasn’t part of their elitist club.

“To be clear, the White House did not give the WHCA board a heads up or have any discussions about today’s announcements,” Daniels whined. “But the WHCA will never stop advocating for comprehensive access, full transparency and the right of the American public to read, listen to and watch reports from the White House, delivered without fear or favor.”

Hilariously, Daniels last made waves when his 2024 election coverage for Politico was widely mocked across social media as a blatant audition to be former Vice President Kamala Harris’ press Secretary in the event she didn’t lose all seven swing states and the popular vote, as she did.

But in an even more embarrassing move, Daniels followed up his whiny statement by announcing that he was leaving Politico to replace recently fired MSNBC talking head Joy Reid as the network’s newest left-wing propagandist, where he’ll most assuredly follow Reid’s lead by drawing hundreds of viewers.

Ultimately, it seems as though the “mainstream” media simply won’t get the message that the American people are done with them until their outlets officially go bankrupt.

Which, by the looks of the current landscape, isn’t too far off in the future.
