Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s political career went down in flames.
Now his replacement is failing as fast as humanly possible.
But her fellow Democrats just perfectly described Governor Kathy Hochul with two-words—and it’s proof she’s betrayed her base.
Andrew Cuomo was forced to resign after news leaked out about how he packed nursing homes with COVID-19 patients and then lied about the number of deaths in nursing homes.
When allegations that he sexually harassed female staffers were stacked on top of that, nobody in the Democrat Party bothered to come to his rescue.
It turned out that he made plenty of enemies in his party—and his predecessor is on track to do the same.
Democrats have started describing current Governor Kathy Hochul as “too extreme.”
In fact, The New York Post reported that “some New York Democrats, disaffected with rising crime and left-wing policy priorities, now say they are ditching their party’s nominee, Gov. Kathy Hochul, in favor of Republican challenger Lee Zeldin ahead of the Nov. 8 gubernatorial election . . . An endorsement by the Brooklyn-based New Era Democrats – which has backed lefty pols like former Mayor Bill de Blasio and presidential candidate Andrew Yang in the past—is one more sign of how Zeldin is wooing some party members away from Hochul as the race heats up.”
Apparently, Hochul isn’t just leaning left, but actually alienating leftists on her way to run the state off a cliff.
“We have a Democratic machine that has gone far too Left—too extreme for even those moderate Democrats,” The President of the New Era Democrats, John Orlando, said.
Hochul has been kowtowing to radical leftists while blowing off moderate Democrats and Republicans.
She even went as far as telling Republicans in New York to get on a bus and head for Florida.
“Hochul has dodged questions on controversial public safety issues like repealing qualified immunity and changing cash bail laws by arguing that the timing was not good to express an opinion despite harsh criticism from her Republican opponent,” The Post added.
That’s a risky move for Hochul considering that New York’s status as a blue state hinges on New York City.
But the state had a Republican Governor only a few years back in 2006.
If she manages to botch up badly enough she could actually turn New York red for a period of time.
Former New York City councilman Rev. Rubén Díaz, Sr., has one important issue driving his support of Zeldin.
“Lee is my candidate. He’s against crime,” Diaz said. “Hochul’s for crime. She refused to make any major changes to the bail law.”
Thanks to Democrats fully embracing destructive pro-crime policies, New York is turning into a huge mess.
Rudy Giuliani’s reforms have been completely unraveled by Bill de Blasio and Eric Adams.
Now it’s up to voters to decide when they’ll finally put a stop to the radical leftists running roughshod in their state.
