Joe Biden’s troubled Attorney General Merrick Garland thought he had Republicans right where he wanted them.
He used his weaponized office to try and protect Joe Biden.
But Kevin McCarthy just caught Merrick Garland completely off guard.
Joe Biden’s weaponized and politicized Justice Department has invited accusations of using every dirty trick in the books to let Hunter Biden walk, including a sweetheart plea agreement.
But then a federal Judge rejected the deal.
Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss claims he has investigated President Biden’s wayward son for five years over tax crimes.
But after his “investigation” he failed to bring charges against the troubled Hunter Biden.
This is despite federal investigators insisting there was ample evidence to move forward with criminal proceedings.
Then, in a shocking move, Weiss was appointed by Garland to be the Special Counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation after a pair of IRS whistleblowers exposed the Biden Justice Department’s political moves to protect Joe Biden’s son.
Garland and the Democrats thought they had hit a home run.
But Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) took the mound and warned that if the Biden DOJ tried to use Special Counsel Weiss to block the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the Biden crime family, he would begin impeachment proceedings.
“The only reason you know of all this information is because we took the majority and we’re holding the administration accountable,” McCarthy told Fox Business’ Larry Kudlow. “It is appalling of what we have learned. It is different than what President Biden had told us. He told us he had never talked to his son about any business dealings, that he has never been involved in his family’s business, that they never received any money from China.”
The Oversight Committee’s investigation has already uncovered a number of shell companies that the Biden family used to funnel millions of dollars from shady foreign businesses and individuals into their pockets.
All while Joe Biden was Vice President.
While Garland initially rejected having a Special Counsel in the Hunter Biden probe when it looked like Weiss would succeed in giving the President’s son a mere slap on the wrist, this new action is thought to be merely an attempt to stave off any further investigations.
“We wanted to have a special prosecutor back in February, but we were told by Garland that there was no need for one,” McCarthy said. “David Weiss told us he could do it if he wanted, but what he told us privately with the IRS agents and what he told publicly along with Attorney General Garland, somebody is lying in this process and the only thing I realize here is the only stories that have not changed are the whistleblowers from the IRS. Their story has held up time and again.”
As Special Counsel, Weiss is expected to attempt to block parts of the Oversight Committee’s probe with the excuse that he now has an ongoing investigation.
“If the Biden Administration continues to fight to withhold information that could really clear all this up, did they take bribes, did they deal in the business, if they hold that up, we would have to move into the impeachment inquiry, which you know, Larry, gives us apex of power to Congress and subpoena power and others to get us the documents we need, the bank statements, the credit card statements and others,” McCarthy continued.
McCarthy says he is prepared to begin the impeachment process against Joe Biden if Weiss tries any funny business.
Merrick Garland is now facing a strike out if he attempts to stop the Oversight Committee’s investigation.
