While Governor of a small state, Kristi Noem made many big moves.
Her bold actions attracted national attention and won her a big promotion.
And now Noem is getting her hands dirty in her first days at her new job.
Kristi Noem confirmed as Director of Homeland Security
Former Republican Governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem was once considered a frontrunner to be Donald Trump’s 2024 running mate.
However, Trump decided to go with J.D. Vance and the rest is history.
But Trump still had plans for Noem.
She was one of his first cabinet nominations.
Noem survived the hot seat during her Senate confirmation hearing and was, indeed, confirmed to be the next Director of Homeland Security in a 59-34 vote.
“As the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, I will work every day to keep all Americans safe and secure,” Noem wrote in a statement following her confirmation. “One of my top priorities is achieving President Trump’s mandate from the American people to secure our southern border and fix our broken immigration system. The Trump Administration will once-again empower our brave men and women in law enforcement to do their jobs and remove criminal aliens and illegal gangs from our country. We will fully equip our intelligence and law enforcement to detect and prevent terror threats and will deliver rapid assistance and disaster relief to Americans in crisis.”
Noem, who was a rancher, farmer, and small business owner before getting into politics, has wasted no time hitting the ground running in her new role.
Along with Border Czar Tom Homan, Noem has greenlit ICE to already round up thousands of criminal illegal aliens for deportation.
And Noem isn’t satisfied to simply watch the action from the sidelines.
Kristi Noem rides with ICE
Just days into the job as Director of Homeland Security, Noem donned the caviar vest and went along with ICE during raids in New York City.
“Live this AM from NYC, I’m on it,” Noem posted on social media with a video of her briefing ICE agents. “We are doing this right – doing exactly what President Donald Trump promised the American people – making our streets safe.”
Just now.

This particular raid took place in the Bronx – Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ (D-NY) home district.
ICE apprehended an illegal alien who is a suspect charged with kidnapping, assault, and burglary.
“When they brought him out, he had shackles on his wrists to his feet,” an anonymous neighbor told Fox 5 New York. “His face had a real angry expression. It was strange. I’ve lived here many years and I’ve never seen him come in or out of the building.”
Meanwhile, Noem has one word to describe the illegal alien arrested while she joined the raid – “dirtbag.”
