Former President Barack Obama moved back to Hawaii when he left the White House.
The pacific island state has seen unprecedented tragedy in recent years.
But now Kristi Noem has just unleashed ICE agents on Barack Obama’s home island in Hawaii raids.
ICE cracks down on America’s most dangerous illegal immigrants
Under President Donald Trump’s leadership, the Department of Homeland Security has ramped up enforcement efforts against criminal illegal aliens across the United States.
Secretary Kristi Noem wasted no time implementing the aggressive enforcement priorities ordered by President Trump during his first days in office.
The results are already showing as ICE agents are now conducting major operations across the nation – even in remote places like Hawaii that were previously treated as sanctuaries under the Biden administration.
DHS targets the “worst of the worst” in Hawaii
In a shocking announcement, the Department of Homeland Security revealed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has successfully apprehended and removed multiple dangerous criminal aliens from the Hawaiian Islands – where former President Barrack Obama makes his home.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents in Kona conducted search warrants, welfare checks on unaccompanied minors, and targeted enforcement actions against some of the most dangerous foreign nationals in the state.
“Our brave ICE agents are conducting operations in Hawaii to protect communities from violent criminals who shouldn’t be in our country,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “The targets of the operation in Hawaii include criminal illegal aliens charged with kidnapping, assault, distribution of deadly drugs, domestic abuse, and theft.”
McLaughlin highlighted the Trump administration’s focus on public safety, adding, “In the first 100 days under President Trump and Secretary Noem, 75% of arrests ICE made were of criminal illegal aliens. DHS is continuing to go after the worst of the worst.”
Violent criminals removed from American communities
The criminals apprehended by ICE in Hawaii represent exactly the kind of threat that Trump and Noem promised to eliminate.
On January 23, 2025, HSI Honolulu arrested Rescue Suda, a citizen of the Marshall Islands. The Circuit Court of Hawaii County had previously convicted Suda of Felony Assault. Suda was also arrested for kidnapping and terroristic threatening.
Just one month later, on February 25, 2025, HSI Honolulu arrested 52-year-old Navor Salas-Cruz, a citizen of Mexico. Salas-Cruz had been living in the United States illegally after multiple prior deportations, with immigration encounters dating back to 1996.
His lengthy criminal history included assault, DWI, forgery, driving without a license, criminal contempt of court, and family abuse. Federal charges against him include illegal reentry of a removed alien and felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
Drug dealers and violent offenders taken into custody
ICE agents didn’t stop there. On January 25, 2025, they arrested RJ Marsolo, a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia. The State of Hawaii had previously convicted Marsolo of first-degree and third-degree assault, sentencing him to 10 years in prison.
That same day, agents apprehended Herman Faamausili, a citizen of Samoa who had been convicted by the U.S. District Court of Hawaii for distribution and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. He had been sentenced to 70 months imprisonment and was previously ordered removed from the United States in September 2021.
The next day, January 26, 2025, HSI Honolulu arrested a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia who had been convicted of theft by receiving and assault in Guam. This individual had been previously ordered removed from the United States in April 2020.
Trump’s promise is being fulfilled
These arrests represent a dramatic shift from the Biden administration’s hands-off approach to immigration enforcement. Under the previous administration, deportations plummeted to record lows while millions of illegal immigrants flooded across the southern border.
President Trump and Secretary Noem are making good on their campaign promises to prioritize the safety and security of American citizens by focusing immigration enforcement resources on removing the most dangerous criminal aliens first.
With ICE agents now actively pursuing criminal aliens even in the most far-flung parts of the United States, Americans can expect to see more dangerous foreign nationals removed from their communities in the coming months.
The enforcement actions in Hawaii demonstrate that no location will serve as a safe haven for criminal aliens under the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
