Fox News viewers witnessed an unexpected clash between two network stars.
The battle lines were drawn between America First supporters and establishment Republicans.
And Laura Ingraham demolished her Fox colleague with one brutal truth that left Fox News reeling.
Fox News heavyweights clash over Trump national security leak
The Atlantic’s editor, Jeffrey Goldberg, ignited a Washington firestorm with his explosive story claiming he had obtained secret war plans from the Trump administration regarding a military strike on Houthi militants in Yemen.
The controversy erupted after National Security Advisor Michael Waltz inadvertently added Goldberg to a Signal group chat for Trump officials discussing the strike.
Goldberg’s story specifically accused Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth of texting classified war plans in the group chat. This allegation was forcefully denied by Hegseth, along with Waltz, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who all insisted no war plans or classified information were shared.
Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume, long considered part of the GOP establishment wing, took aim at Hegseth for his response to the allegations.
“Look, I’m not a particular fan of Goldberg or his magazine, but he didn’t do anything wrong here. He got that thing sent to him passively. He didn’t do anything to get it. And when he reported on it, he left out a lot of the details. So, then they attacked him and said that he wasn’t telling the truth about it, which just gave him a reason to release the details as he did this morning,” Hume stated.
Ingraham exposes the real agenda behind the media attack
Laura Ingraham wasn’t having any of it. She quickly recognized what was really happening and fired back at Hume and the media establishment’s seemingly coordinated attack on America First officials.
Ingraham pointed out Goldberg’s long track record as a globalist who helped lead America into the Iraq War and consistently supported establishment foreign policy disasters, including Biden’s proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
“It doesn’t matter how successful Trump’s foreign policy is,” Ingraham stated. “Doesn’t matter. Goldberg and others like him will continue to long for the glorious days of Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, when America was getting weaker as China was getting stronger.”
She continued with a devastating blow to establishment Republicans: “The truth is, most feigning outrage over the Signal chat are really outraged that under Trump, America is now acting in her own interest. Their idea of a successful Republican is Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney. Maybe throw them all together.”
Ingraham pulled no punches in explaining the real motivation behind what appeared to be a carefully orchestrated media hit job against Hegseth.
“Now that it’s becoming increasingly obvious that the voters have chosen the America First approach to domestic and foreign policy, I mean the old guard, the old elite, they’re becoming angrier and more desperate by the day,” Ingraham added.
She mocked the suddenly concerned media establishment that had spent years covering for the Biden administration.
“These people helped the Biden administration cover up everything from the Biden Ukraine and China grift to Biden’s own declining mental state, I will never forgive them for that,” Ingraham concluded.
The timing of Goldberg’s story raised serious questions about the motivation behind its release. He received the messages between March 11 and March 15 but held the story until March 25 – just one day before Trump’s national security team was scheduled to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Perhaps even more telling was the story’s focus on Hegseth rather than Waltz, who was the one who actually added Goldberg to the chat. While Hegseth was named twice in the first five paragraphs as the central figure in the controversy, Waltz – who has supported establishment positions on wars with Iran and Russia – wasn’t mentioned until paragraph six.
The pattern became clear: this was a calculated attempt to take down one of Trump’s America First advisors and replace him with someone more aligned with the foreign policy establishment that voters had just rejected at the ballot box.
For viewers who have followed Fox News over the years, the clash between Ingraham and Hume represents the larger battle taking place within the Republican Party – a battle between those who stand with President Trump’s America First agenda and those who long for a return to the days of endless foreign interventions and globalist policies.
With America First officials like Hegseth under fire, Ingraham’s willingness to speak out against fellow Fox News personalities demonstrates just how high the stakes have become in the fight for America’s foreign policy direction.
