It’s indisputable that the American people gave Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans a clear mandate to enact the America First agenda and drain the Washington, D.C., “Swamp.”
That’s not stopping ruling class RINOs from attempting to join forces with Democrats to do the exact opposite though.
And now Laura Ingraham laid the smackdown on Mike Johnson when he dared to consider this massive betrayal.
RINOs just can’t help themselves
When President-elect Donald Trump first took office in 2017, he did so with Republican majorities in both the U.S. House and Senate.
But rather than working with Trump to enact the agenda the American people voted for, ruling class RINOs, like former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (RINO-WI), worked tirelessly to undercut Trump while working with Democrats to enact much of the establishment’s America Last agenda.
With the 2024 election being an even more overwhelming result than 2016, many Republicans have foolishly believed that ruling class RINOs in Washington, D.C. have accepted the clear mandate voters gave them to fulfill Trump’s promises to enact the America First agenda and drain the swamp.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (RINO-LA) made clear that wouldn’t be the case during a recent appearance on The Ingraham Angle, though.
During the interview, Fox News’ Laura Ingraham pointed out that Trump and his team are planning to utilize executive orders to immediately secure the border and begin cleaning up the mess Democrats’ open borders agenda has created on day one.
But she noted that with majorities in the House and Senate, Republicans can actually pass legislation that can’t simply be thrown out in the event a Democrat wins the Presidency again in four years, like executive orders can, and asked Johnson if that was his intention as Speaker.
“President-Elect Trump can do a lot just by executive order,” Ingraham said. “But I do understand from my sources that they want laws passed. They don’t want an executive order that can just be thrown away, you know, four years or eight years. They want permanent change.”
“Can’t ask for asylum inside the country,” she continued, rattling off major reforms that must be made to immigration law. “Can’t play the game where you come here and say, ‘Oh, I’m oppressed,’ and you get to stay. He’s even talking about the birthright citizenship issue, which obviously is more problematic because of the Constitution. That would require more thinking and study. But he doesn’t want to just do the executive orders. Is that what your understanding is as well?”
It’s all about the money
But rather than actually agreeing to fulfill the will of the American people, Johnson attempted to play semantic games, choosing instead to call for “comprehensive immigration reform” – the establishment’s well-known codeword for Democrats’ dream of mass amnesty.
“Yes,” Johnson answered. “Our agenda is to enact this into law. We need real, comprehensive immigration reform. We’ve needed it for a long time. But–”
Fortunately, Ingraham didn’t let the RINO Speaker get away with his verbal slight of hand, cutting him off to point out to her audience that he was merely using an establishment dogwhistle to mask RINOs’ true intentions.
“That sounds like amnesty,” Ingraham declared. “Every time I’ve heard Republicans say that, it’s like an earned path to citizenship. Then we have 20 million, you know, people who get their citizenship overnight. Every time I hear that, it drives me crazy, but you can explain.”
Of course, much like the spineless, weaselly coward he’s been since ascending to the Speakership, Johnson quickly backpeddled, claiming he meant the opposite of what he actually said.
“No, no,” Johnson said, stuttering from the nervousness of being called out on live TV. “We want to do the opposite of amnesty. If you do an amnesty program, you invite more people to violate the law. That’s exactly the opposite of what we need to do. We gotta begin on day one with securing the border.”
Make no mistake about it, Speaker Johnson, soon-to-be Senate Majority Leader John Thune (RINO-SD), and the rest of the establishment RINOs have no interest in actually following through on Trump’s promise of securing the border and deporting the tens of millions of illegal aliens currently in the country.
After all, their big money donors in corporate America, like the Koch brothers, and special interest groups, like the Chamber of Commerce, want amnesty so they can further enrich themselves through replacing working class Americans with cheap foreign labor.
And unless working class Americans hold their feet to the fire, they’ll keep doing everything they can to make their amnesty dreams a reality.
