Teachers unions have been waging war on parents for years.
They've fought to keep schools closed, pushed radical gender ideology, and defended Critical Race Theory.
But leaked training materials just showed how the teachers union labeled half the country as "villains.”
NEA's December training exposes radical agenda hiding in plain sight
The National Education Association represents more than 3 million teachers across the country.
Congress granted the union a federal charter back in 1906 to "elevate the character and advance the interests of the profession of teaching" and "promote the cause of education in the United States."¹
That mission died decades ago.
Defending Education obtained internal training documents for the NEA's upcoming "Advancing LGBTQ+ Justice" session scheduled for December 2-4, 2025.²
The materials read like a political manifesto, not professional development for educators.
The training includes guides for teachers going through gender transitions at work, complete with "tips" for "coming out" and "transitioning at work."³
Teachers receive instruction on proper gender pronoun usage and how to combat so-called transphobia in schools.
The NEA distributed literature featuring the "Gender Unicorn" — a tool used by transgender activists to break down the idea there are only two genders.⁴
The document includes a coloring book where teachers can mark where they fit on the gender spectrum.
But the materials get worse when they address conservatives who oppose this agenda.

NEA labels Republicans as "villains" blocking progress
The training literature doesn't hide its contempt for half the country.
"The right has exploited ignorance about transgender people and our lack of an affirmative, race-forward message to advance anti-trans attacks, further splinter and impugn the left, and sabotage progressives on a broad range of issues," the handbook states.⁵
The NEA then accuses Republicans of using "racist dog whistles" to "whip up fear and consolidate power."⁶
The union's materials explicitly use the term "villains" to describe opponents of their transgender agenda.
"Name the villains who violate our values, expose their motivation of getting back into or holding onto power, and position them as a barrier to what our families need," the document instructs teachers.⁷
This isn't education — it's political warfare disguised as professional development.
The training also defends Critical Race Theory against what it calls "fear-mongering" from critics.
"Recently, they have paired these attacks with fear-mongering about Critical Race Theory, mobilizing their base with a potent mix of racist and transphobic tropes," the materials claim.⁸
Translation: Anyone questioning CRT or gender ideology in schools is a racist and a transphobe.
The NEA spent years denying they pushed Critical Race Theory in schools.
Now they're defending it in official training materials while attacking parents who object.

Federal charter under fire as spending priorities exposed
The NEA's radical priorities come as Congress considers legislation to reform or revoke the union's federal charter.
In 2024, the NEA spent $23 million on political campaigns and another $3 million lobbying Congress.⁹
That same year, just 9% of the NEA's spending went to representing its members.¹⁰
The rest funded political causes and union leadership priorities — including six-figure salaries for 410 union officers and employees.¹¹
NEA President Becky Pringle pulled in $481,161 in 2024 while average teacher salaries nationwide hover around $76,000.¹²
Republican lawmakers introduced the STUDENT Act earlier this year to hold the NEA accountable.
The legislation would prohibit the union from engaging in electoral politics and lobbying while requiring annual transparency reports to Congress.¹³
Senator Cynthia Lummis stated the NEA "has exploited its federal charter to advance a radical political agenda that puts ideology before education."¹⁴
Erika Sanzi from Defending Education told Fox News the training materials prove the NEA has abandoned teachers and students.
"The NEA is the largest teachers' union in the country, and they have decided to vilify half the country in an upcoming training," Sanzi explained. "As far as they are concerned, the only reasons anyone could oppose their preferred ideologies are racism and transphobia and they name Republicans as villains, in writing!"¹⁵
The NEA's federal charter was granted because the union promised to serve the cause of education in America.
Sanzi argued that charter should be revoked.
"Seeing as their leadership — and by extension, the organization itself — has morphed into a far-left insane asylum that is actively destroying the cause of education, that charter is no longer defensible."¹⁶
Parents send their kids to school to learn reading, writing, and mathematics.
They don't send them to be indoctrinated by union activists who view half the country as villains standing in the way of their political agenda.
The NEA stopped representing teachers years ago and became a Democrat Party operation masquerading as an education organization.
Congress granted them a federal charter to elevate teaching and promote education.
They're doing neither — and it's time their special status gets pulled.
