Letitia James is fuming after Donald Trump silenced rogue judges with one surprising move

House Republicans pass Trump-backed No Rogue Rulings Act to stop liberal judges from blocking presidential policies with nationwide injunctions.

Donald Trump promised to drain the Swamp in Washington, D.C.

Now he’s taking aim at another part of the establishment that has been standing in his way.

And Letitia James is fuming after Donald Trump silenced rogue judges with one surprising move.

Trump-backed bill crushes activist judges’ nationwide power grab

President Donald Trump scored a major victory on Wednesday when the House of Representatives passed legislation that will stop liberal judges from blocking his America First agenda.

The No Rogue Rulings Act sailed through the House by a vote of 219 to 213, with all but one Republican lawmaker supporting the measure. Not a single Democrat voted for the bill.

The legislation, spearheaded by Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA), will prevent activist judges from issuing nationwide injunctions that have repeatedly halted Trump administration policies.

It’s another blow to Democrats’ lawfare strategy.

Democrats have increasingly leaned on wielding legal battles as political weapons to target opponents, with figures like Fulton County DA Fani Willis and New York AG Letitia James leading the charge against Donald Trump.

Those efforts, like their latest lawfare nationwide injunction tactic, rely on rogue judges.

These rogue judges have issued more than 15 nationwide injunctions targeting President Trump’s policies since he took office in January, blocking everything from his birthright citizenship reforms to his efforts to dismantle divisive DEI programs.

“Many Democrat-appointed lower court judges have conducted themselves like activist liberal lawyers in robes while attempting to stop President Trump’s nationwide reforms,” Representative Lance Gooden (R-TX) told Fox News Digital after the bill passed. “The No Rogue Rulings Act limits this unchecked power.”

Republicans unite to defend Trump’s agenda from judicial sabotage

The legislation forces district courts to limit the scope of their rulings to the parties directly involved in most cases, preventing a single judge from blocking Presidential policies across the entire country.

Representative Derek Schmidt (R-KS), who added an amendment aimed at stopping plaintiffs from “judge shopping” their cases to favorable districts, called the bill “commonsense.”

“A lot of things get called commonsense around here, but this one genuinely is,” Schmidt told Fox News Digital before the vote.

Republican lawmakers rallied behind the President, recognizing that liberal judges have become one of the biggest obstacles to implementing the agenda that voters elected Trump to carry out.

“More than 77 million Americans voted for [Trump’s] pro-American policies and want to see them implemented quickly,” Representative Randy Feenstra (R-IA) explained to Fox News Digital. “There is no reason that activist judges whose authority does not extend nationally should be allowed to completely stop [his] agenda.”

Trump’s strategy outsmarts the radical Left

The bill represents a strategic victory for Trump and House Republican leadership, who opted for legislation rather than pursuing impeachment of specific judges as some conservatives had initially proposed.

Representative Marlin Stutzman (R-IN), who supported both impeachment and Issa’s bill, didn’t mince words about the judicial obstruction Trump has faced.

“The judicial vendetta against President Trump’s agenda needs to be checked,” Stutzman told Fox News Digital. “Nationwide injunctions by activists judges have stood in the way of the American people’s will and in some cases their safety, since the President was sworn into office.”

Before the vote, Representative Issa was confident the bill would pass but less certain about gaining Democratic support, despite the fact that even Elizabeth Prelogar, former Biden administration solicitor general, had previously complained about district judges’ powers during Biden’s term.

“We’re hoping some people look at it on its merits rather than its politics,” Issa said, but Democrats unanimously opposed the measure.

The Republican unity on this issue is particularly notable given early divisions over how to confront what they have described as “rogue” and “activist” judges trying to derail Trump’s agenda.

By choosing this legislative path, House GOP leaders believe they’ve found a more effective route to tackle the issue of judicial overreach that has plagued the Trump administration since day one.

However, the bill faces an uphill battle in the Senate, where it will need support from several Democrats to reach the 60-vote threshold required for passage.

Stutzman summed up the stakes perfectly, saying the bill “will stop individual judges’ political beliefs from preventing the wants and needs of our citizens from being implemented.”
