Liz Cheney went all-in on destroying Donald Trump in an effort to extinguish the America First movement and ensure neocon elites like herself maintained a stranglehold on the GOP.
She failed miserably.
And now Liz Cheney is in coverup mode after this smoking gun destroyed her Big Lie about Donald Trump.
Nothing but lies
Democrats’ January 6 Committee was supposed to be what would ultimately imprison President-elect Donald Trump and stop the America First movement in its tracks.
As a matter of fact, then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) even went so far as to reject then-House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s nominations of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and others to serve on the supposedly “bipartisan” Committee, choosing instead to handpick establishment RINOs, like disgraced former Reps. Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (RINO-IL), in order to ensure that the sham witch hunt went the way Democrats wanted.
But as the November 5 Presidential election proved, they failed miserably to make their propaganda narratives stick.
Fortunately, though, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) has been leading a Congressional investigation into the Committee’s activities.
And while Democrats’ media allies have completely ignored Loudermilk’s efforts thus far, George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley recently noted that the investigation is increasingly making the January 6 Committee look “less and less credible.”
As Turley pointed out, from the start, Democrats formed the January 6 Committee for the sole purpose of manufacturing credibility for their predetermined conclusion that the spontaneous protest was somehow a Trump-led, super sophisticated and organized coup to overthrow the entire U.S. government.
“The House Select Committee to investigate January 6 was comprised of Democrat-selected members who offered only one possible view: that January 6 was an attempt to overthrow our democracy by Trump and his supporters,” Turley stated.
The law professor also called out the fact that Democrats hired a former ABC News producer to turn the Committee’s hearings into made-for-TV productions, and selectively omitted evidence that was inconvenient to their preferred narrative.
“The committee hired a former ABC News producer to create a slick, made-for-television production that barred opposing views and countervailing evidence. The members, including Republican Vice Chair Liz Cheney, played edited videotapes of Trump’s speech that removed the portion where Trump called on his supporters to protest “peacefully,” Turley continued.
Americans knew the truth from the start
Turley also noted that the Committee has already been exposed for suppressing the fact that Trump himself offered Pelosi 10,000 National Guard troops days before January 6 in an effort to help keep the peace, but she declined – as Speaker, Pelosi was ultimately in charge of the Capitol Building’s security and was legally required to make the final call on additional security measures.
“Yet evidence now shows that Trump personally suggested the deployment of 10,000 National Guard troops to prevent violence,” Turley noted.
“For example, a transcript includes the testimony of former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato in January 2022 with Liz Cheney present. Ornato states that he clearly recalled Trump’s offer of 10,000 troops,” he added.
Furthermore, while Democrats and their media allies long claimed that January 6 protestors were some rabid, bloodthirsty mob who killed Capitol Police officers that day, in reality, the only person who lost their life as a result of that day’s events was Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, who was gunned down by Capitol Police Officer Michael Byrd.
Byrd’s actions were portrayed by the January 6 Committee and media as some heroic, totally justified act.
But Loudermilk’s investigation has also uncovered the troubling reality of Byrd’s lengthy history of disciplinary issues.
“The new report confirms that Byrd had prior disciplinary and training issues, including ‘a failed shotgun qualification test, a failed FBI background check for a weapon’s purchase, a 33-day suspension for a lost weapon and referral to Maryland state prosecutors for firing his gun at a stolen car fleeing his neighborhood,’” Turley explained.
“In one incident, detailed in a letter from Loudermilk, Byrd was suspected of lying about the circumstances under which he shot at the fleeing car,” he added.
It’s abundantly clear that the January 6 Committee’s preferred anti-Trump narrative simply doesn’t match up with the reality of what truly transpired that day.
That’s a fact the overwhelming majority of Americans have known for years, as a CBS News poll indicated that over 75% of Americans knew January 6 was a spontaneous protest that simply went too far – not an “insurrection” – in 2022, during the height of Democrats and their media allies’ witch hunt.
And it’s the exact type of lies and corruption that are now being exposed within the January 6 Committee that ultimately allowed Donald Trump to overcome the propaganda and secure a historic 2024 victory.
