Now Liz Cheney has jaws on the ground after she admitted this one truth about Donald Trump.
After the January 6 Committee voted to subpoena former President Donald Trump in October, he contested it under the grounds that it violated the separation of powers set forth in the Constitution.
However, since the Committee wrapped up its work, Liz Cheney and the rest of the witch hunt members announced that they were withdrawing Trump’s subpoena.
“As you may know, the Select Committee has concluded its hearings, released its final report and will very soon reach its end. In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena,” Committee Chairman Thompson wrote in a letter to Trump.
“Therefore, through this letter, I hereby formally withdraw the subpoena issued to former President Trump, and notify you that he is no longer obligated to comply or produce records in response to said subpoena,” the Committee’s letter added. “We appreciate your engagement with the Select Committee on this matter.”
On his Truth Social platform, Trump mocked Liz Cheney and the Committee for withdrawing the subpoena.
“Was just advised that the Unselect Committee of political Thugs has withdrawn the Subpoena of me concerning the January 6th Protest of the CROOKED 2020 Presidential Election. They probably did so because they knew I did nothing wrong, or they were about to lose in Court. Perhaps the FBI’s involvement in RIGGING the Election played into their decision. In any event, the Subpoena is DEAD!” Trump posted.
Of course, the real reason the Committee dropped the subpoena is because the GOP is now in the majority in the House of Representatives.
If the Committee didn’t end its so-called investigation, the new GOP majority would have shut it down on the first day in power.
However, withdrawing the subpoena proved that critics were correct about the entire debacle being an Election Year stunt designed to help Democrats in the Midterms.
By issuing the subpoena in mid-October, the Committee ensured that January 6 was in the headlines during the last few weeks of the election when voters were paying the most attention.
Now that the subpoena is withdrawn, most Americans can clearly see that the evidence proves the Committee was never about discovering the truth, but instead was about helping Democrats and harming Trump.
