Representative Liz Cheney is a legend in her own mind.
But she just got hit in the face with a big dose of reality.
And she went through the roof after a Wyoming Republican pointed out that she’s delusional.
Liz Cheney is Nancy Pelosi’s favorite Swamp Republican.
Even though Cheney is supposed to represent Wyoming, the truth is that she grew up in Washington, D.C. steeped in Swamp politics and graduated from McLean High School on the Virginia side of the Washington, D.C. beltway.
Her entire life and career has centered around establishment politics, while using Wyoming voters to gain a seat in Congress.
But now a leading Wyoming Republican is predicting that she’s pushed her luck too far.
When former President Donald Trump became the face of the Republican Party RINO Cheney completely lost her mind.
She’s obsessed with destroying Trump—even though he’s out of office—and has enlisted herself as a top operator in Nancy Pelosi’s sham January 6 Committee.
She’s so wrapped up in her crusade against Trump that she’s inexplicably chosen to ignore the problems Joe Biden has inflicted on the country—including her constituents.
Now she has to return to Wyoming — where domestic energy is a major part of the economy — and face voters dealing with Joe Biden’s efforts to cripple the American energy industry alongside skyrocketing inflation.
Since Cheney had the stunning audacity to turn her backs on conservatives—even voting to impeach Trump when he was in office — and then run as a Republican she’s likely to face all kinds of resistance as the August primary election approaches.
Donald Trump endorsed her opponent, attorney Harriet Hageman who was raised on a ranch near Fort Laramie.
Hageman has already broken fundraising records with the help of Trump family members.
Wyoming, which has the smallest population of any state in the nation, is overwhelmingly pro-Trump and handed him his largest margin of victory of any state in 2016 and 2020.
That means Cheney’s hardline anti-Trump stance absolutely flies in the face of the majority of her constituents’ wishes.
Senator John Barrasso, a republican who has been in office for 16 years says Cheney has “a lot of work to do” if she wants to win her August primary.
“Wyoming politics is very personal,” Barrasso said. “It’s face-to-face. It’s town-to-town.”
While Hageman is stumping at every opportunity, Cheney has been hiding out in Washington, D.C. hobnobbing with Democrats and basking in her own self-importance as a member of the January 6 Committee.
“And as you know, Liz and I disagree,” Barrasso said. “I voted against impeachment on President Trump. She was for it. I voted against the partisan January 6th Commission. She’s all in on that.”
“Now, the election isn’t for another month,” the Senator added. “The travel that I’ve done around the state, I think she has a lot of work to do if she hopes to win the primary.”
Cheney has been plotting to get Democrats to cross over and vote for her in the Republican Primary.
After all, a RINO is the closest thing to a Democrat that could possibly get elected in the Cowboy State.
But Senator Barrasso pointed out that Cheney is delusional if she thinks that Hail Mary strategy will pan out.
“There’s really not that many Democrats out there,” Barrasso said of his state. “Even the Chairman of the [Democrat] Party said there are not enough Democrats to do that.”
Cheney is trailing by nearly 30 points in recent polls, for obvious reasons.
She’s deeply embarrassed every pro-Trump conservative she represents.
She’d be better off cutting her losses now and finding a new career in The Swamp than continuing to pretend she somehow represents the people of Wyoming.
