Rush Limbaugh most certainly left his mark on American politics.
Love him or hate him, you knew who he was, and he was a legend.
And now many in the political world were left shocked when they heard who would be replacing Rush Limbaugh.
Indeed, no one will ever truly replace Rush Limbaugh, but the time has certainly arrived for someone to put their own spin on that coveted talk radio time slot.
For thirty years, Rush Limbaugh’s booming voice blared through the speakers of tens of millions of listeners as political animals tuned in each day.
Limbaugh held the number one slot in talk radio for decades.
He was unmatched, a true force to be reckoned with, and deeply loved by his fans.
Now months after his untimely passing in February, the announcement has been made that there are new hosts for his prized time slot.
Clay Travis and Buck Sexton will be the voices people will hear now in their show The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show beginning on June 21.
President of Premiere Networks Julie Talbott released a statement saying, “We couldn’t be happier to have Clay and Buck – two incredibly talented personalities from our Premiere family – at the helm of this new program.”
Talbott continued, “Rush Limbaugh is irreplaceable, but we’re confident they will continue his legacy by delivering their own brand of intelligent, informed and entertaining talk radio, while providing our partners with a powerful platform to connect with their consumers.”
Both Sexton and Travis have extensive backgrounds in radio.
Currently, Travis hosts Outkick The Coverage with Clay Travis on FOX Sports Radio, while Sexton hosts his own show on Premiere Networks called The Buck Sexton Show.
Travis is selling his media company, Outkick, to Fox Corporation.
No one knows if the new show will be accepted like Limbaugh’s, but Sexton and Clay are at least willing to give it a go.
Limbaugh undoubtedly paved the way for political radio hosts like Sexton and Clay and so many more.
While he is dearly missed, his legacy continues to live on, and America can only hope that his message still resonates for decades to come with these new hosts taking up his mantle.
