Marjorie Taylor Greene just told Donald Trump two words that left him scrambling for cover

Donald Trump spent four years building Marjorie Taylor Greene into one of his most loyal attack dogs.

She delivered for him when virtually nobody else would.

But Marjorie Taylor Greene just told Trump two words that left him scrambling for cover.

Trump turns on his most loyal ally over Epstein files

Trump called Greene a "traitor" on Saturday and withdrew his endorsement after years of the Georgia congresswoman being one of his fiercest defenders.¹

The split came after Greene signed onto a bipartisan discharge petition to force a House vote on releasing all Department of Justice files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump had been fighting the release tooth and nail for months, calling it a "Democrat Hoax."²

But Greene wasn't backing down.

She texted Trump directly about the urgency of releasing the files and standing with Epstein's victims.

"Unfortunately, it has all come down to the Epstein files," Greene told CNN's Dana Bash on Sunday. "And that is shocking."³

Greene said she's spoken with multiple Epstein victims who told her Trump hasn't been accused of any wrongdoing.

So why is the President fighting so hard to keep the files sealed?

"That is the question everyone is asking is why fight this so hard?" Greene stated.⁴

The House Oversight Committee released thousands of emails last week showing Epstein discussing Trump.

One April 2011 email from Epstein to Ghislaine Maxwell said "that dog that hasn't barked is trump.. virginia spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned."⁵

Another email showed Epstein telling someone in April 2025 that "of course he knew about the girls."⁶

Trump has denied knowing about Epstein's decades-long sexual abuse and says they had a falling out in the early 2000s.

Greene warns Trump's attacks put her life in danger

After Trump called her a traitor, Greene said the President's words could radicalize people against her.

"The most hurtful thing he said, which is absolutely untrue, is that he called me a traitor," Greene told CNN. "And that is so extremely wrong. And those are the types of words used that can radicalize people against me and put my life in danger."⁷

Greene revealed she's been contacted by multiple private security firms warning her about threats against her safety "fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world."⁸

Rome Police Department confirmed they received two email assassination threats toward Greene and her family.⁹

Greene also reported receiving hoax pizza deliveries to her house and family members, along with a pipe bomb threat at her construction company office.¹⁰

Trump shrugged off Greene's safety concerns on Sunday.

"I don't think her life is in danger," Trump told reporters. "Frankly, I don't think anybody cares about her."¹¹

Conservative commentator Laura Loomer piled on, accusing Greene of lying about the threats.

"You're a millionaire, bitch. Go hire security if you're so afraid of President Trump," Loomer posted on X. "You look pathetic accusing Trump of inciting violence against you."¹²

Trump makes stunning reversal after facing GOP rebellion

Trump appeared to be staring down a massive Republican defection on the Epstein files vote.

GOP leaders were bracing for dozens of House Republicans to break with Trump and vote to release the files despite his opposition.¹³

Representative Thomas Massie, who led the discharge petition with Democrat Ro Khanna, predicted "a deluge of Republicans" would vote for release.¹⁴

Massie said Sunday he thought Trump was "trying to protect a bunch of rich and powerful friends, billionaires, donors to his campaign, friends in his social circles."¹⁵

The Kentucky Republican warned his GOP colleagues that "the record of this vote will last longer" than Trump's presidency.¹⁶

By Sunday night, Trump threw in the towel.

"House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it's time to move on from this Democrat Hoax," Trump posted on Truth Social.¹⁷

The complete 180-degree turn came after months of Trump calling the push for transparency a "hoax" and pressuring Republicans not to sign the discharge petition.

Trump even demanded the Justice Department investigate Epstein's connections to Democrats like Bill Clinton and Larry Summers in a desperate attempt to change the subject.¹⁸

But Greene and Massie wouldn't let him off the hook.

The House is set to vote Tuesday on forcing the Justice Department to release all materials related to the Epstein investigation, including flight logs, travel records, and documents referencing individuals connected to the case.¹⁹

Greene told CBS News that Trump's opposition to releasing the files is "a huge miscalculation."²⁰

"I think it's a huge miscalculation, and I truly just stand with the women, and I think they deserve to be the ones that we're fighting for," Greene explained.²¹

She also offered an apology on Sunday for her past role in "toxic politics."

"I would like to say humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics," Greene told CNN. "It's very bad for our country."²²

Trump and Greene's relationship had been one of the most reliable in Republican politics for years.

Greene was one of Trump's biggest cheerleaders, spending millions of her own money to help him get elected and campaigning across the country for him.

Now she's telling Trump two words he never expected to hear from one of his most loyal supporters: "Release them."

And after fighting tooth and nail to keep those files sealed, Trump had no choice but to surrender.
