Award winning actor Mark Wahlberg is one of the few outspoken Christians in the movie business today.

And his strong faith can sometimes put him in some very uncomfortable situations.

And Mark Wahlberg made a chilling confession about Hollywood that will sicken his wife.

Mark Wahlberg says on screen romances can be strange

Actor Mark Wahlberg has starred in just about every kind of movie imaginable in Hollywood from comedies to action flicks to dramas.

And in his next movie, he gets to live out every red-blooded guy’s dream.

In the upcoming Netflix film ‘The Union’ Wahlberg stars alongside Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry.

In the film Wahlberg plays an average Joe who rekindles his romance with his high school sweetheart, played by Berry, who also happens to now be a spy.

“. . . Halle, her and I have known each other for such a long time, and this movie is going to be so great because it’s every guy’s fantasy, to think that they got a shot with Halle Berry,” Wahlberg recently told Fox News Digital.

He said the movie is about getting second chances in life.

“They were childhood sweethearts, and they come back together,” Wahlberg said. “He basically waited 25 years for her to come back, walk back through that door and into his life, and it happens, and there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do to prove himself to her if he got a second chance. For me, that was the whole motivation of the character: just do anything he could to not screw it up again.”

In real life, Wahlberg has been happily married to his wife Rhea Durham for 15 years.

And Wahlberg says it still gets “a little weird” having an onscreen romance.

“I think it’s a little weird anyway when you’re portraying some sort of romance onscreen, it’s not normal, but my wife knows that she is my everything,” Wahlberg said. “She is the most special woman in the world.”

Mark Wahlberg left Hollywood behind for his family

Wahlberg is one of the many actors who have left Los Angeles behind to find a better life for their families elsewhere.

He moved his family from LA to Las Vegas, Nevada for the benefit of his four kids.

And he has tried to make sure his family can live as normal a life as possible given his fame.

Wahlberg posted pictures on social media of him going on a shopping trip to a boutique store with his daughter Ella in South Carolina where she attends school at Clemson University.

“Dad has only a few purposes in life, to do what they want when they want me to do it. And I don’t mind doing that, we had an amazing time down in Charleston,” Wahlberg said. “Only for her, her sister, her mom, will I go into a store like that.”

In addition to ‘The Union’ Wahlberg is also challenging himself with his role in the upcoming Mel Gibson-directed film, ‘Flight Risk.’

In that film Wahlberg is taking a rare turn as the villain.

His character is a hitman who’s flying an FBI informant to trial.

“I’m not interested in being a pilot. I don’t like flying at all, but I was very interested in playing a villain again,” Wahlberg stated. “I hadn’t done that since Fear 30 years ago.”

The 1996 thriller ‘Fear’ was Wahlberg’s breakout role in Hollywood.

“To be able to go back there and play somebody who is [a villain] . . . it’s an amazing character,” Wahlberg remarked. “I think people are going to be shocked when they see the movie. It’s going to be a good one this summer.”

Wahlberg remains a top box office attraction despite Hollywood’s disdain of Christians in the industry.

Talent, and a strong faith, can overcome anything.
