It’s obviously no secret many Americans now feel there’s more than enough evidence pointing at Democrats’ weaponization of government against anyone who dares oppose the left-wing agenda to any degree.
But at the same time, they’ve also seen a cabal of establishment elites in both parties using the levers of government power to protect themselves and their fellow ruling class elites from facing any accountability for actual wrongdoing.
As such, during a recent Newsmax interview, Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) criticized the Republican establishment notion that there’s no reason to vote on criminal referrals – even if they’re proven – for anyone associated with the Biden regime, including Hunter Biden, because Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland will simply make them go away.
“I don’t ascribe to the theory that we just have to surrender sending criminal referrals because somehow [Attorney General] Merrick Garland will never prosecute them,” Gaetz said.
The Congressman explained that statute of limitations gives investigators at least five years for most of the crimes the Biden family is currently being investigated for, meaning a potential second Trump administration could still prosecute the crimes.
But Gaetz also doesn’t want to simply leave the dirty work of prosecuting such crimes to just anyone.
As a matter of fact, Rep. Gaetz went so far as to nominate himself as a candidate for Attorney General should former President Donald Trump win the 2024 election, saying he’d “provide the accountability.”
“For many of the crimes that we are observing, the statute of limitations is five years, and so we could send criminal referrals to the Department of Justice, we go take the White House back, and you never know, David, it may be an Attorney General Matt Gaetz down the road or someone of my liking who will be there to actually enforce the law and provide the accountability,” Gaetz stated. “Not just the vision, but the actual accountability.”
While Gaetz’s handful of years as a practicing attorney out of law school before becoming a full-time politician wouldn’t exactly be what most would call a strong resume for an Attorney General nominee, he certainly wouldn’t back down from taking the fight to the deeply entrenched Democrat activists within the U.S. judicial system.
And quite frankly, considering how out-of-control the ruling class elites are, that may just be more important than actual legal experience.
Nevertheless, that quality is also the primary reason the RINO establishment would fight tooth-and-nail to ensure Rep. Gaetz never comes anywhere close to the Justice Department, as the Congressman went on to admit.
“The world is not ready, probably,” Gaetz conceded. “Certainly Senate confirmation wouldn’t be, but you know, a boy can dream.”
Regardless of who Trump would ultimately choose as his Attorney General, Matt Gaetz is correct in saying it should be someone willing to hold the ruling class elites accountable.
