Megan Rapinoe made history as the leader of a women’s national soccer team filled with such obnoxious leftist bullies that millions of Americans were rooting for the Swedish team that beat them in pursuit of the Women’s World Cup.
Among her activist moves was Rapinoe’s demand that teammates kneel with her during every performance of the national anthem.
She also battled with Donald Trump and exercised a lack of foresight in supporting the idea that men should be allowed to play women’s sports.
Americans hoped Rapinoe would fade from the public eye after her retirement from the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team.
But she’s back and Rapinoe’s past political stunts are nothing compared to her latest effort.
Ahead of war breaking out in Gaza Rapinoe posted a link on Instagram to a fundraiser to collect money for the people of Gaza.
Outkick’s David Hookstad noted Rapinoe, whose Instagram profile picture is a logo for the pro-Hamas Black Lives Matter group, hasn’t updated her profile to also raise money for Israelis attacked by Hamas terrorists.
“There’s no tweets on her X account referencing Israel, Hamas or raising funds or the Israelis under attack,” Hookstad noted. “In fact, she hasn’t tweeted at all since the attack happened.”
In a truly wild twist, Hookstad also noted that Rapinoe who is homosexual and has a partner, Sue Bird, who is an Israeli citizen.
Apparently, regardless of her partner’s heritage, Rapinoe is part of the shockingly large slice of the Democrat Party coming out as pro-Hamas.
Democrats are not only demanding a cease-fire, but are also calling on Israel to back off even after being attacked.
At the same time, leftists are opposed to any effort to end the war in Ukraine.
That’s just one example of how the Democrat Party is a hierarchy of identity politics that is leading it awry with perceived victimhood status trumping any sort of facts or logic when it comes to decision making.
The Left has decided the people of Gaza are in the top tier of “marginalized groups” they care about, while other groups of people simply don’t matter in their political worldview.
Leftists like Rapinoe like to think the people of Gaza are in their camp.
But if Rapinoe and friends ever decided to take a trip to Gaza they’ll be in for a painful wake-up call in a world where her views on everything from gender distinctions on the bathrooms to homosexual marriage would likely be violently opposed.
