Meghan McCain continues to be the only co-host on The View with even a whiff of conservative ideology.
She is outnumbered by her liberal counterparts, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping her from speaking her mind.
And Meghan McCain just took Bernie Sanders to task, and it has everyone talking.
There is no doubt Bernie Sanders is the face of socialism in the United States.
Everyone knows that the Democrat Party is filled with socialists, but Bernie Sanders stands virtually alone in that he openly admits it.
Many have likened Sanders’ impact on the socialist movement in America to what Ron Paul did for libertarianism in 2008 and 2012.
There are of course, major differences, starting with the ideological canyon between Paul’s advocacy of freedom and liberty and Sanders’ push for socialism and tyranny.
The Democrat Party has long been filled with closet socialists. Meanwhile, the Right had few libertarian conservatives before Dr. Paul.
The starkest difference is the character – or lack thereof – of those Sanders’ socialist movement gave rise to.
It was Sanders’ presidential campaign that created what we know now as “The Squad,” a far-left group made up of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley.
And “The Squad’s” clear lack of character has been on full display lately and Meghan McCain is clearly fed up with it.
Still, with Democrats doing little to hide their socialism these days, Bernie Sanders is treated as a king when he appears on far-left shows like The View.
Meghan McCain’s politics aren’t far from what her famous fathers’ became.
But McCain wasn’t going to let the vocal socialist be treated with kid gloves like the rest of her co-hosts would have preferred.
McCain posed a series of questions that revolved around Sanders’s criticism of Israeli policy and how he had also celebrated Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.
“Senator Sanders, you have been a vocal critic of certain Israeli policies, while still acknowledging and sometimes even celebrating Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state,” McCain began.
McCain then pointed out that some of Sanders’ supporters have gone in a very “different direction” by calling Israel an “apartheid state” and publicly pronouncing themselves as anti-Zionist.
The View co-host went on to ask Sanders point-blank, “Do you agree that this kind of extreme anti-Israel rhetoric – and I want to make it clear again, I am not talking about criticizing specific Israeli policies – has contributed to the rise in attacks against Jewish-Americans?”
In typical fashion, the left-wing extremist Sanders answered by condemning bigotry, stating that anti-Semitism is a “serious and growing problem” all over the world and saying that it is “obviously unacceptable.”
Much to Sanders’ dismay, McCain wasn’t finished.
“Senator Sanders, you are the godfather of the Squad. You’re a hyper-progressive socialist and you were talking about social justice before it was cool. But it feels like the Squad today has moved even to the Left of you. How is it for you to stand by everything AOC, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar have said and done, particularly when it comes to Israel, and talking about from the river to the sea and the extermination of Israel as a right to exist, or do you think the movement which you started has moved away from what you envisioned?”
Sanders, not surprisingly, skirted around the question and gave a non-answer saying, “I don’t believe that’s what they’re saying.”
He also stated that “it’s not my job to have to defend any member of Congress any more than it is their job to defend every statement that I make.”
No doubt Bernie Sanders knows that the statements by the ‘Squad’ are indefensible and that he is largely responsible for most of them holding office.
