Fox News left the world stunned—and leftists celebrating—when the network fired tucker Carlson.
Now members of the media are competing to come up with the wildest theory as to why it happened.
And Megyn Kelly just made a prediction about Tucker Carlson’s future that will infuriate Rupert Murdoch.
During an episode of her podcast Megyn Kelly told her followers Fox News’ decision to fire Carlson is a “terrible move” that will ultimately end in Carlson’s favor.
“This is a terrible move by Fox, and it’s a great thing for Tucker Carlson,” Kelly predicted.
Media outlets have been playing 20 questions guessing why Fox News canned its most popular host.
Some assume it’s because Carlson became the fall guy after the network forked over $787 million to Dominion Voting System for a defamation settlement.
Others claimed Carlson was fired due to a lawsuit filed by former producer Abby Grossberg who accused Carlson of being sexist and running a hostile work environment.
Yet another theory is that Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch personally ordered him out due to Carlson persistently debunking the FBI and Democrat Party’s “official” version of what happened on January 6.
Kelly refused to speculate about why Fox News fired Carlson, saying she has no insight into their motives.
“I don’t know what drove Fox News to make this decision. And it was clearly Fox News’ decision because they’re not letting him say goodbye,” she noted. “That’s my supposition. That’s not inside knowledge. […] Talk about misjudging your audience yet again.”
When she went on Dan Abrams’ News Nation TV show, Kelly delved deeper into what she believes lies ahead for both Fox News and Carlson.
She correctly called the initial nosedive the company took on the stock market.
Indeed, in the wake of Carlson’s firing the company’s stock value dropped by nearly a million dollars.
But Kelly says based on its history of firing popular hosts including Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly, the brand is likely to weather the storm just fine.
“Fox is going to take a hit tonight and this week and short term for sure. Its audience is very, very angry,” Kelly said. “I will say, the names you just mentioned, those departures prove there’s a huge audience out there that’s loyal to Fox, likes the Fox News graphics, the Fox News reporters — that’s what they’re banking on.”
That said, Kelly believes Tucker Carlson’s millions of fans will follow him straight out the door.
She says that will set up Carlson for success on a new platform.
“They’ll go with Tucker, for sure,” Kelly told Abrams.
Kelly pointed to Joe Rogan – who is the most popular podcaster and pulls in an audience more than three times a large as Carlson’s—as the model for Carlson moving forward free from corporate limitations.
“Tucker is going to have more success, more money and more influence in an independent lane. I mean look at Joe Rogan. His audience dwarfs anything that’s on cable news right now and Tucker could rival him,” Kelly argued. “So, I think he’ll make more money in the independent lane and it’ll all go in his pocket as opposed to in Rupert (Murdoch’s).”
And making Fox New wish they had him back would be icing on the cake for Carlson.
