First Lady Melania Trump has made supporting children a signature cause throughout her time in the White House.
She continued that mission with a special Christmas visit to young patients.
And Melania Trump just received one gift from a 5-year-old that left the First Lady stunned.
Melania Trump continues 80-year Christmas tradition at Children's National Hospital
First Lady Melania Trump visited Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. on Friday, carrying on an 80-year tradition started by Bess Truman in 1945.
Every First Lady since has made the holiday pilgrimage to bring comfort and joy to children who cannot spend Christmas at home with their families.
Melania arrived at the hospital's festively decorated atrium escorted by two young patients – 11-year-old Riley Whitney and 5-year-old Faith Hinkle.

The First Lady looked stunning in a black coat and burgundy heels as she took her seat in front of a towering Christmas tree.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus joined the event, adding to the magical atmosphere for the children and their families.
Melania read "How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney?" by Mac Barnett to about two dozen young patients gathered in the atrium.
The reading was warm and engaging, bringing a sense of normalcy and wonder to children battling serious illnesses during the holiday season.
When she finished reading, Melania wished the children strength and promised Santa would bring them "lots of toys."
"I'm sure Santa will visit all of you this Christmas and bring you a lot of toys, so I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year," the First Lady told the children.¹ "I wish you a lot of strength and love."
A 5-year-old's spontaneous hug captures hearts nationwide
The most touching moment of the visit came after Melania closed the book.
That's when 5-year-old Faith Hinkle – red bow in her hair, no hesitation whatsoever – sprinted straight across the room and wrapped her arms around the First Lady.
The hug came out of nowhere.
Faith wasn't letting go. She hugged Melania again. And again.
The video went viral for a reason. Millions of people watched a sick little girl find comfort in the First Lady's arms.
A lip reader later analyzed what they said to each other.
Melania asked Faith what she wanted for Christmas.
The answer? "A little dog" – but not for herself.
"My sister broke hers so, so, it's for her," Faith said.²

First Lady brings "Be Best" initiative to holiday visit
Melania didn't arrive empty-handed at the hospital.
She brought special gifts for the patients, including Christmas tree ornaments engraved with "Be Best," the signature name of her child well-being initiative.
Santa Claus presented the First Lady with a gold coin engraved with "Believe" and "Merry Christmas" during the event.
After the atrium gathering, Melania spent time privately visiting children in the hospital's hematology and oncology units.
She chatted individually with patients and their families, offering words of encouragement during what can be the most difficult time of year for families dealing with serious childhood illnesses.
President Trump sent his love and best wishes to the children through Melania, who shared his message with the families.
The visit followed Melania's participation in the 103rd National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Thursday evening.
She looked elegant in a long winter white coat and navy gloves as she and President Trump lit the tree on the Ellipse near the White House.
This tradition of First Ladies visiting Children's National during the holidays has lasted eight decades because it actually matters to families going through hell.
And Melania gets that. Her connection with these kids isn't manufactured for cameras. You can see it.
