Attorney General Merrick Garland is using the Justice Department to go after Joe Biden’s political enemies.
But Republicans are set to take control of the House on January 3.
And Jim Jordan just put Merrick Garland on notice that there will be a price to pay for his abuses of power.
Ever since the 2016 Presidential election, FBI agents have been used as political hatchet men for the Democrats.
Under Merrick Garland’s watch, numerous FBI whistleblowers have stepped forward about his politicization of the Bureau.
And Elon Musk’s Twitter Files have proved that the FBI worked with Big Tech to censor conservatives who opposed the Democrat agenda.
But when Republicans take control of the House on January 3, Jim Jordan is promising a full investigation into the Bureau.
“We’ve been looking at a Church-style committee to look at this,” Jordan told Just the News.
Formed in 1975, the Church Committee investigated and exposed abuses by the CIA, the National Security Agency (NSA), and the FBI, which led to reforms in the intelligence community.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy echoed Jim Jordan’s calls for a Church-style committee to investigate the Bureau.
“We’ve got to get to the very bottom, and I think just subpoenas are starting, but you’re almost going to have to have a Church-style investigation to reform the FBI, the more that we are learning,” McCarthy told Fox News.
Non-members of Congress can also be on the committee, such as retired House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and former Trump Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, who helped expose the FBI’s role in pushing the Russian collusion hoax against former President Donald Trump.
“You’ve listened to John Ratcliffe, early on, talk about the different things that he was fearful of them doing,” McCarthy said. “He is a former FBI, he is a former prosecutor, U.S. attorney, he’s a former Congressman, and he was DNI as well. So he is the key individual that will work with us in many avenues to help solve this problem and correct it once and for all.”
According to former FBI intelligence director Kevin Brock, a Church-style committee may be exactly what is needed to restore public trust in the Bureau.
“I think, frankly, it would be great for the FBI,” Brock said. “They find themselves obviously in a very challenging situation, some of which they brought on themselves, others kind of imposed upon them.”
If half the country believes the FBI is working on behalf of one political party, he said the Bureau won’t be able to survive.
And a Church-style committee involving outside experts is the first step to rein in the out-of-control FBI.
