The media has been keeping the relationship between Donald Trump and Mike Pence under a microscope.
There are conflicting reports about how Pence feels about the end of Trump’s administration over the past few months.
But Pence showed his true colors when he turned his back on Donald Trump on his last day in office in the most ridiculous way.
The morning of Joe Biden’s inauguration, President Trump left Washington, D.C. on the Air Force One for the very last time as the President of the United States.
Before he left, he had personally invited Mike Pence to appear at one final event with President Trump and their supporters.
But according to reports, Mike Pence and his team “cited the logistical challenges” of getting to Joe Biden’s inauguration events as well as Trump’s, and so he left Trump in the dust.
The Hill reported:
Pence is slated to attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, and as a result will not be at the Air Force base. Officials cited the logistical challenges of getting between the two events. Biden is scheduled to be sworn in at noon Wednesday.
The top two Republicans in Congress — House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (Ky.) — are also not planning to attend Trump’s send-off. McCarthy and McConnell have also been invited by Biden to attend a pre-inauguration church service Wednesday morning.
This can be described as nothing other than a back-stabbing.
Donald Trump has been by Mike Pence’s side for the last four years in the face of the most trying times.
But Mike Pence decided to rub shoulders with the incoming administration instead of appear with Trump for the last time in their administration.
And Pence wasn’t the only Republican to blow off Trump.
Both House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) decided to follow Pence to the Biden inauguration festivities over standing with Trump.
All three of these Republican Party leaders should keep one thing in mind – the Donald Trump revived conservative enthusiasm in 2016.
If they fall back to the RINO antics of the Mitt Romney and John McCain types, they will inevitably fall on their face flat.
