The RINO-wing leadership in the Republican Party won’t back solid conservative candidates unless they’re forced into a corner.
But Mitch McConnell is not happy Donald Trump is still the leader of the Republican Party.
And Mitch McConnell made a bold move to hurt Donald Trump and stabs conservatives in the back in the process.
Donald Trump hasn’t faded away after leaving office as many in the GOP establishment would have liked.
Now, it seems Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is desperate to push him out.
He’s thrown gasoline on the battle for control of the Republican Party against Trump.
With Trump pushed out of office, McConnell was hoping things would go back to normal—a world where politicians make all the right promises to their base when they’re back home campaigning, then forget about their promises the minute they board a flight to Washington, D.C.
But too many Americans have had their eyes opened and they’re never going to look at politics the same way again.
Add to that the contrast between life when Donald Trump was in power and the nightmare the world has become since Joe Biden took over and you’ve got a massive Republican base nearly 100% loyal to real conservative leaders like Trump and Ron DeSantis.
Now the corrupt establishment, led by McConnell, is doing everything it can to tamp out the grassroots support for true conservative values.
During a midterm election year, Republican primary races are where the establishment elite and grassroots conservatives are duking it out for control.
And one of the most dramatic parts of that struggle is playing out in Alaska where one of the biggest RINOs in the U.S. Senate, Lisa Murkowski, is up for re-election.
She’s been playing dirty for years and was one of seven Senate Republicans to vote to impeach Trump over the January 6 dustup.
Of course, she has a track record of selling out on conservatives by doing things like voting against confirming Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court while Trump was in office.
Yet she did vote for Democrat President Joe Biden’s radical leftist pick Kantanji Brown Jackson.
In fact, she’s so unpopular with conservatives, she lost her Republican Primary in 2010, but crony lobbyists and others invested in Big Government leap in to help save her day.
They rallied around Murkowski as a write-in candidate and put their favorite RINO back to work.
Murkowksi caused Trump no end of headaches so he was quick to endorse political outsider Kelly Tshibaka.
Meanwhile, McConnell has sold out conservatives yet again by trying to help Murkowski win.
The Senate Leadership Fund which is aligned with McConnell has reserved an astonishing $7.4 million to spend on television ads for Murkowski this fall.
That comes to about $10 in ad spend for every man, woman, and child in The Last Frontier.
The establishment already did their homework to stack the odd in Murkowski’s favor.
It allows the top four candidates to appear on the November ballot so Murkowski can’t be blocked out of the General Election by true Republicans.
McConnell was busy playing up Murkowski’s RINO resume during an interview with Axios.
“It’s important for Lisa to be reelected. She’s one of the few sort of moderates in the middle of the Senate,” he said. “We’re going to do everything we can to make sure she’s successful.”
Chances are The Last Frontier will become the location of the biggest political duel between Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell this year.
