Nobody knows why Mitt Romney isn’t a registered Democrat these days.
He’s clearly parked in their camp on one issue after the next.
And now he’s approved the next Republican setting out to pull off a massive betrayal.
Former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is playing around with the idea of running for US Senate as the current seat holder, Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) gears up to run as Governor.
The fact that Daniels is a hard-core RINO is apparent based on the attention his potential candidacy is getting.
Colorado Senator John Hickenlooper (D-CO) is among Democrats encouraging Daniels to move forward with a campaign.
“Maybe our success here the last couple of years is going to attract more Governors. The experience of being a Governor is directly applicable,” Hickenlooper said. “I think [Daniels] is someone who is driven by a desire — almost a need — to serve.”
Hickenlooper went on to extoll Daniels, a RINO who would become a GOP ally for Democrats in the Senate by voting like Mitt Romney or Thom Tillis, by agreeing with Democrats all the time.
“My guess is that he’ll look at it and think, ‘yeah, I was so cynical and hated it.’ He has great social skills. He’s a talented manager, obviously a very successful Governor, but he also is a visionary and is capable of bringing people together and building these constituencies around specific issues, which is what this building is all about,” Hickenlooper continued.
Mitt Romney was quick to pile on Hickenlooper’s praise by saying Daniels is a “terrific candidate.”
Daniels’ record as Governor of Indiana explains why Democrats and Romney are enamored with the idea of Daniels joining the Senate.
As Governor of Indiana, he called for Republicans to surrender entirely on cultural issues by declaring a “truce.”
Naturally, that was the opportunity the Left was waiting to use to its full advantage.
In the end, Daniels called for basically allowing the Left free rein to push transgenderism along with teaching Critical Race Theory in Indiana schools with no resistance from the highest-elected Republican in the state.
In an interview with Never Trumper Mona Charen, Daniels revealed that he agrees with Joe Biden’s perspective that Trump supporters are enemies of the state bent on destroying democracy.
“I’ve spent 10 years ducking questions like this,” Daniels initially responded when Charen asked him about Joe Biden’s speech claiming that Trump supporters are “domestic terrorists”.
Daniels then went on to agree with Biden on the bulk of his accusations.
“I’ll just make no objections to the statements the President made,” Daniels said. “These are things that needed to be said. I think there are anti-democratic tendencies on both ends of the spectrum.”
Then Charen went on to falsely claim that Trump supporters are “subverting democracy.”
Daniels immediately responded saying, “Completely agree.”
Romney and Mitch McConnell want as many RINOs like Daniels as they can get in the Senate: those who won’t rock the boat and let Democrats get away with whatever they want.
