Move over Jasmine Crockett: a new Democrat just went on CNN and snatched the most unhinged crown

Leftist politicians have horrified Americans, crossing line after line in recent years.

And for the rising crop of un-talents in the party’s Squad two-point-zero, the name of the game is trying to out “hood” each other.

And a new Texas Democrat just made one brazen threat live on CNN that snatched the most unhinged title straight off of Jasmine Crockett’s dome.

Texas Democrat’s throat-slashing gesture shocks viewers

Texas State Representative Jolanda Jones walked onto CNN Wednesday night and said the quiet part out loud.¹

"I’m from the hood, okay?" Jones told Erin Burnett. "So when a bully comes like, if there are no rules, you literally have to figure it out."¹

Then she made a slashing motion across her neck.¹

"If you hit me in my face, I’m not going to punch you back in your face," Jones said. "I’m going to go across your neck."¹

Jones is running for Congress in Texas’s 18th Congressional District after Democrat Sylvester Turner passed away in March.

But instead of discussing policy during her CNN appearance, Jones delivered what critics immediately called a direct threat against Republicans.

"You’ve got to hit hard enough where they won’t come back," Jones continued. "And so, yeah, for the same way I went to New York and spoke with Governor Kathy Hochul and said if they’re going to try to wipe us out in Texas, we need to wipe out every Republican in New York, in California, in Illinois."¹

Burnett sat there stone-faced.

She didn’t push back, didn’t ask Jones to clarify whether she was threatening violence, didn’t do anything resembling actual journalism.

The CNN host just let Jones keep talking about "wiping out" Republicans while Americans watched in disbelief.

A day earlier, Jones told Axios that Democrats need to "fight ugly" to deal with Republicans.²

"If you grew up in the hood like me, that’s the fastest way, literally, to be killed," Jones said. "My brother was murdered, my aunt was murdered, my cousin was murdered. My dad blew his brains out."²

Jones isn’t some fringe activist shouting into the void on social media.

She’s a sitting state legislator who became the first openly LGBTQ African-American elected to the Texas legislature in 2022.³

And she’s currently polling third in the race to replace Turner, trailing Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee and former Houston city council member Amanda Edwards.⁴

Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck just six weeks ago

The timing of Jones’s throat-slashing gesture couldn’t be worse.

Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, was assassinated by a sniper on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University.⁵

Kirk was 31 years old when Tyler Robinson shot him from a nearby rooftop during what should have been a routine campus event.⁵

The bullet struck Kirk in the neck.

Now here’s Jones on national television, six weeks after Kirk’s murder, talking about going "across your neck" when dealing with political opponents.

Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet posted the CNN clip and didn’t mince words.

"SICK. Democrat Texas State Rep Jolanda Jones says she’s going to come for the ‘necks’ and ‘wipe out’ every Republican," Kolvet wrote on X. "This is the exact type of rhetoric that got Charlie murdered BY A SHOT TO THE NECK!!"⁶

Since Kirk’s assassination, Democrats have been told repeatedly to tone down their violent rhetoric.

President Trump himself warned that leftist rhetoric "directly responsible for the terrorism we’re seeing in our country."⁷

Trump survived two assassination attempts in 2024 before Kirk was killed in September 2025.

Data from the Center for Strategic and International Studies shows left-wing terrorist incidents have surged in 2025 while right-wing attacks plummeted.⁸

Left-wing violence now outpaces right-wing violence by a significant margin, with over 750 domestic terror events analyzed since 1994.⁸

The Washington Post confirmed that "left-wing actors are responsible for more attacks this year."⁸

Democrats refuse to dial back the violence

Jones isn’t apologizing for her comments.

Instead, she’s doubling down on the same inflammatory rhetoric that preceded Kirk’s murder and the attempts on Trump’s life.

This is the same state legislator who compared Republican redistricting efforts to the Holocaust in August 2025, then had to issue a groveling apology.⁹

"I was emotional about what I called ‘Trump’s attempt to disenfranchise Black and Brown people,’" Jones told Fox News at the time. "It was a mistake and I apologize for it."⁹

That apology lasted all of two months.

Now Jones is back on national television threatening to go for Republicans’ necks and "wipe out" her political opponents in multiple states.

The research is clear about what happens when politicians use violent rhetoric.

University of Michigan researchers found that "violent political rhetoric is without negative consequences" and "can inflame violent attitudes, particularly among those predisposed to be aggressive."¹⁰

Democrats spent years accusing Republicans of "stochastic terrorism" when conservatives criticized their policies.

Now those same Democrats are literally making throat-slashing gestures on CNN while calling to "wipe out" their political opponents.

Vice President Kamala Harris repeatedly called Trump "a threat to our democracy" in the months before Kirk’s assassination.¹¹

Joe Biden told donors "it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye" just five days before the first assassination attempt against Trump in July 2024.¹¹

Representative Daniel Goldman said Trump "has to be eliminated."¹¹

That’s not hyperbole or exaggeration – those are direct quotes from Democrat leaders.

CNN’s Burnett had a chance to challenge Jones’s violent rhetoric, to ask whether threatening to slash political opponents’ necks crosses a line, to do literally anything that resembles journalism.

She chose to sit there silently instead.

That says everything about where the media stands on left-wing political violence.
