Nancy Pelosi created the January 6 Committee with the single purpose of destroying Donald Trump.
She’s determined to achieve her goal.
And Nancy Pelosi and her January 6 Committee have a new plan to stop Trump from running in 2024 that should terrify most Americans.
One of the most radical Trump haters in all of Congress is Maryland Representative Jamie Raskin, who served as House Manager in the Democrats’ second impeachment sham.
Raskin now sits on Pelosi’s January 6 Committee.
And he recently promised Salon.com’s Dean Obeidallah that he will bring criminal charges against Donald Trump.
As Raskin explained to Obeidallah, just like the Left forced Merrick Garland to bring seditious conspiracy charges against folks over the events of January 6, Democrats could also pressure the Attorney General to indict Trump.
“People were on [Merrick] Garland’s case for the fact that there had been no indictments for seditious conspiracy,” Raskin told Obeidallah. “And then there was a huge indictment on seditious conspiracy against the Oath Keepers and presumably more to come.”
Raskin then falsely accused Trump of leading a conspiracy to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power and overthrow the federal government.
“There was this overlapping conspiracy to knock over the capitol and take down the government,” Raskin added. “I mean that was the interruption of the peaceful transfer of power for the first time in American history for four or five hours.”
Raskin promised leftists that Donald Trump would go to jail.
“Trump will get his comeuppance,” Raskin exclaimed. “I know how maddening and frustrating it is to people, I share that feeling. I’ve been an impeachment manager. He’s guilty as sin. He’s a one man crime wave.”
“It’s amazing his dad’s money and his pack of lawyers he travels with have been able to get him off everything up until now,” Raskin concluded.
Even though Pelosi’s Committee is not a law-enforcement agency, Democrats are making it clear that they see their role as recommending criminal charges against Donald Trump.
Since the Committee is supposed to have a legitimate legislative purpose, the Democrats’ acting like law-enforcement calls into question the Constitutionality of the Committee.
Democrats are cheering Raskin’s remarks right now.
But it could come back to haunt them further down the road in the looming legal battles over the Committee’s authority.
