Republicans failed to take back the Senate from Chuck Schumer and the Democrats in the 2022 Midterm elections.
Control of the Upper Chamber is once again up for grabs in 2024.
But Nancy Pelosi just caught everyone off guard with this surprising announcement about the U.S. Senate currently held by fellow California Democrat Dianne Feinstein.
Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is 89 years old.
Democrats are hoping she decides to retire in 2024 instead of seeking re-election.
Rumors have been circulating for years in Washington, D.C. that Feinstein is suffering from a state of declining mental faculties that could be worse than Joe Biden.
Since Feinstein’s successor is virtually guaranteed a lifetime job in the Senate, ambitious Democrats in California want to push her out next year.
Congressman Adam Schiff is one of the ambitious California Democrats looking to push Feinstein out of the race.
Schiff recently posted a video on social media announcing his campaign.

But Schiff already has the support of Nancy Pelosi.
The most powerful Democrat in California released a statement announcing her support for Schiff if Dianne Feinstein retires.
“If she decides not to run, I will be supporting House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff, who knows well the nexus between a strong Democracy and a strong economy,” Pelosi wrote.
Pelosi parroted the usual talking points about the importance of defending Democracy.
“In his service in the House, he has focused on strengthening our Democracy with justice and on building an economy that works for all,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi assured Democrats they could trust Schiff to lead anti-Trump and conservative witch hunts and cited his leadership on the Russian collusion hoax and the Ukraine sham impeachment as proof.
“Every time I have asked Adam to take on the tough fight against extremist forces, he has responded with integrity, strength, and success,” Pelosi wrote.
Pelosi concluded her endorsement by warning Americans that democracy will collapse and die if Democrats lose the election.
“America is at a crossroads. We can continue to lift our communities, strengthen our economy, and defend our Democracy — or let Republicans roll back our progress, threaten our freedoms, and give tax breaks to the wealthy special interests,” Pelosi added. “In 2024, the fight for America’s future is on the ballot.”
Nancy Pelosi made Adam Schiff her go-to hatchet man in the House of Representatives.
And now Pelosi is hoping Schiff can play that role for Chuck Schumer in the U.S. Senate.
