Nancy Pelosi Just Made One Endorsement That Has Democrats Talking

The Kennedy family dynasty is back in the news.

And Nancy Pelosi is right in the middle of it.

Nancy Pelosi just made one endorsement that has Democrats talking.

Pelosi Backs Kennedy Grandson for Nadler's Seat

Nancy Pelosi is throwing her weight behind Jack Schlossberg, JFK's 32-year-old grandson, in the crowded Democrat primary for Jerry Nadler's Manhattan congressional seat.

Nadler recently announced his retirement after more than three decades representing New York's 12th Congressional District.

The district spans some of Manhattan's wealthiest neighborhoods from Union Square through the Upper West Side and Upper East Side.

Pelosi's endorsement statement emphasized Schlossberg's supposed "passion for solving problems," his "ability to engage and inspire young people," and his "policy chops."

Pelosi served alongside multiple Kennedy family members during her time in Congress, including the late Senator Ted Kennedy, former Representative Patrick Kennedy, former Representative Joe Kennedy, and former Representative Joseph P. Kennedy III.

The Kennedy dynasty has dominated Democrat politics since Patrick Joseph Kennedy entered the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1884.

For over 140 years, the family built its power through political patronage and establishment connections.

Pelosi's endorsement follows that exact playbook.

She's picking the candidate with the famous last name over anyone with actual experience governing.

Schlossberg's Thin Résumé Raises Questions

The 32-year-old wants to step into Nadler's shoes in a district where voters know the Kennedy brand better than any policy position.

His résumé is largely defined by political commentary and social media videos where he calls himself a "silly goose."

Schlossberg worked as a political correspondent for Vogue magazine during the 2024 election.

Before that, he spent time at a Japanese e-commerce company and a distillery while his mother served as ambassador to Japan.

He graduated from Yale with a history degree and earned a law degree and MBA from Harvard.

Schlossberg passed the bar exam in 2023 but never practiced law.

Like other Democrat politicians looking to make a name for themselves, Schlossberg is best known for his anti-Trump statements.

He's built a social media following by posting controversial videos mocking President Trump and attacking his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who serves as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Schlossberg called RFK Jr. "a rabid dog."

The White House pushed back on that remark.

The primary field includes New York State Assemblyman Micah Lasher, former journalist Jami Floyd, and NeverTrump attorney George Conway, who founded the Lincoln Project.

A Family Divided Over Trump

Schlossberg's campaign has highlighted divisions within the Kennedy family.

Most of the Kennedy clan endorsed Joe Biden in 2024 after RFK Jr. launched an independent presidential bid.

Kerry Kennedy led 15 family members to a Biden campaign event in Philadelphia where they publicly rejected her brother.

When RFK Jr. later endorsed Donald Trump and accepted a cabinet position, his siblings issued a statement declaring his decision "a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear."

The Kennedy family spent decades building their reputation as Democrat Party royalty.

Now they're demanding lockstep loyalty to party orthodoxy from every family member.

RFK Jr.'s decision to join the Trump Administration exposed the family's real priority isn't public service or challenging the establishment like JFK and RFK Sr. did.

Their priority is maintaining power within the Democrat Party machine.

Jack Schlossberg represents the next generation of that machine.

The Schlossberg family experienced a personal tragedy in December when Jack's sister Tatiana died at age 35 from leukemia.

Despite the loss, Schlossberg pushed forward with his congressional campaign.

Pelosi's endorsement signals the preference of party leadership in what will be a closely watched primary.

The race reflects broader dynamics inside the Democrat Party, with establishment figures backing legacy candidates while multiple contenders compete for support.

Manhattan voters will ultimately determine the outcome when the primary takes place in June 2026.

Pelosi is betting on the Kennedy name to carry Schlossberg to victory over candidates with actual qualifications.

That's how political dynasties work.

They pass power from generation to generation based on family connections, not merit.

Schlossberg gets Pelosi's endorsement not because he's earned it through years of public service.

He gets it because his grandfather was JFK and his mother is Caroline Kennedy.

The Democrat establishment loves nothing more than anointing political royalty.
