Nancy Pelosi just went ballistic in anger after a top Democrat threw her under the bus

During a recent legislative battle, a House Democrat did not hesitate to betray Nancy Pelosi amid the Democrat Party’s continued fracturing following crushing Election Day defeat.

Nancy Pelosi has sat at the helm of the House Democrats for decades.

But her support from rank-and-file House Democrats is beginning to rapidly collapse.

And Nancy Pelosi just went ballistic in anger after a top Democrat threw her under the bus.

House Democrat throws a fit after Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is rejected for leadership

Democrats are still scrambling in a frenzy to figure out what they should do next after their crushing defeat on Election Day.

Many younger generation Democrat voters and legislators want to see the party’s old guard to be pushed aside for new faces.

During House leadership elections, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) attempted to be elected as the ranking Democrat for the powerful House Oversight Committee.

If selected for the role, she would have been lined up to become the Chairwoman of the committee the next time the Democrat Party took majority in the House.

Her opposing candidate for the committee role was Representative Gerry Connolly (D-VA) – an establishment Democrat.

According to Punchbowl News, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had been working behind closed doors to shill for Connolly while “actively working to tank” AOC’s bid.

Connolly, at 74 years old, ultimately defeated the 35-year-old New York radical Democrat following Pelosi’s work lobbying Democrats to support the former.

A Democrat Representative from Texas, Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), was furious following the election, and took time on MSNBC to fire at her own party for making a decision based on “seniority” instead of who she believed to be “best equipped.”

She claimed that Democrats should take notes from Republicans on how to manage their leadership roles in the House of Representatives.

“While I think both are absolutely qualified, I do think that within the Democratic Caucus, we are really stuck in our old ways of doing things, which is you get there by seniority,” ranted Crockett.

She did concede that Connolly would do well in the role by her standards, but she argued that Americans wanted to see something change following their Election Day blowout.

“I don’t think we fully sit there and say, who may be best equipped for this moment?” continued the enraged House Democrat. “I think that America is looking at us and saying, wait a minute, we lost the election.”

“I think they are saying, we are looking towards y’all to show us you’re willing to shake it up if it means we can move this country forward,” she added.

Democrats continue infighting following electoral sweep by Republicans

House Republicans have adopted term limits for how long someone can hold a lead role on a committee.

The system permits new and fresh faces to have the opportunity to oversee each committee while preventing overly entrenched incumbents from obtaining far too much power and influence.

Crockett argued that House Democrats should consider adopting a similar system for how they handle their own leadership elections.

“He’s very true to this and I think that within the caucus we will have conversations about how we do leadership because on the Republican side, they have term limits and so you can’t sit in those posts very long so they end up shipping out their leadership more a lot more frequently than we do on the Democratic side,” she ranted.

Ocasio-Cortez’s defeat for the leadership race ended up being the biggest blow to her emerging political career when members of her own caucus sided with Connolly over her.

And Crockett’s anger may be fueled by her own defeat when she attempt to take the helm for Democrat Policy and their Communications Committee.

The result of these defeats at the hands of establishment party figures has been the relentless lashing out at party leadership, who appear to be less interested than ever in passing the torch down to the next generation of Democrats.
