When it comes to political battles, one of Democrats’ biggest advantages is their reliance on groupthink.
While Republicans are generally independent thinkers who will fight even their allies over small disagreements, the Democrat establishment simply doesn’t tolerate those who step out of line.
But in a stunning twist Nancy Pelosi left everyone stunned after she admitted one brutal truth about John Fetterman.
With 89-year-old Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) dealing with a medical condition that has kept her out of the Senate for over a month now, Democrats are in a tight spot.
With Senator Feinstein on the sidelines and a razor-thin Senate majority, Democrats simply do not have the votes to advance President Joe Biden’s radical left-wing judicial nominees.
That, coupled with the fact that Feinstein’s health and mental faculties have been on the decline for years now due to her advanced age, has put the Party in a situation in which many younger Members of Congress have called for the Senator to step down to allow another left-wing radical to take her place.
In fact, even before the Democrat Senator had announced that she wouldn’t seek re-election in 2024, prominent radical left-wing Reps. Katie Porter (D-CA) and Adam Schiff (D-CA) had already announced that they would run for her seat, even if she ended up running.
Congresswoman Ro Khanna (D-CA) even took to Twitter to publicly call for Senator Feinstein to resign, while imploring her fellow Democrats to “put the country ahead of personal loyalty” for once.
“It’s time for @SenFeinstein to resign,” Khanna wrote on Twitter. “We need to put the country ahead of personal loyalty. While she has had a lifetime of public service, it is obvious she can no longer fulfill her duties. Not speaking out undermines our credibility as elected representatives of the people.”
Many Democrats agreed with Khanna, including Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), who also posted on Twitter that “it’s now a dereliction of duty for Feinstein to remain in the Senate and a dereliction of duty for those who agree to remain quiet.”
But her fellow Democrats’ efforts to get Senator Feinstein to resign didn’t sit well with those in her generation, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Likely worrying that if Feinstein gives in, she’ll be the next target of the younger generation of Democrats, Rep. Pelosi went to Democrats’ typical playbook of claiming discrimination was at play.
“For 20 years I have been the leader or the speaker of the House fighting for California, and I have seen up close and firsthand her great leadership for our country but especially for our state of California,” Pelosi told CBS’ local San Francisco affiliate. “She deserves the respect to get well and be back on duty, and it’s interesting to me. I don’t know what political agendas are at work that are going after Senator Feinstein in that way.”
“I’ve never seen them go after a man who was sick in the Senate in that way,” she added.
Obviously, the former Speaker of the House implying that Democrats haven’t called for a male Senator to resign over health issues is rather pertinent considering the fact that Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) only recently returned to the Senate after taking nearly two months off to deal with depression that stemmed from the near-fatal stroke he suffered last year.
In fact, prior to that extended health-related absence, Fetterman previously checked himself into the hospital due to headaches he suffered shortly after being sworn-in back in January, meaning he’s only served a handful of days in the Senate since taking office.
Furthermore, the Pennsylvania Democrat suffered his near-fatal stroke in the middle of last year’s Midterms, which kept him off the campaign trail for months, and led him to dodge debating his Republican opponent due to the fact that he was unable to speak coherently or understand words that were being spoken to him.
Nevertheless, Democrats and their media allies vehemently defended Fetterman, and continue to do so, while doing the exact opposite to Senator Feinstein.
Based on the facts, as difficult as it may be to admit, Nancy Pelosi may actually be right – Democrats look like a bunch of sexists here.
