And that’s why Nancy Pelosi made one stunning — and ironic — threat after Joe Biden’s Administration was caught asleep on the job.
The Biden administration tried to sweep the baby formula crisis under the rug, but it’s blown up in their faces.
The situation has become so awful Nancy Pelosi even issued a cryptic threat.
Things began to unravel when two babies tragically died from bacterial infections.
Abbott Laboratories, one of only a few companies making formula in the United States, is being blamed for producing contaminated formula the babies drank.
Abbott argued that the infections were not caused by contaminants introduced during the manufacturing process.
But Biden’s FDA decided to shut down Abbott — long after a complaint was filed.
In other words, they didn’t react quickly enough to possibly isolate and fix a problem, but they did manage to completely disrupt the supply chain leaving panicked parents trying to figure out how to keep their babies nourished.
Now that it’s a full-blown crisis, politicians are looking around for who to pin the blame on.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi jumped straight to threatening to sue anyone and everyone involved.
Talking about the two babies that died, Pelosi said, “That’s sinful . . . When it comes to babies, it’s the here and now and in this moment . . . I think that when all of this is done . . . I think there might be a need for indictment.”
Exactly who she’s going to charge with their deaths isn’t clear — and it probably doesn’t matter to her as long as the outcome makes Democrats look good.
Ironically, Pelosi is fighting even harder for the right to kill babies up to mere seconds before they’re born.
Somehow, accidentally producing formula that may have become contaminated is sinful, but choosing to deliberately kill a full-term baby isn’t?
Leftist ethics are fatally flawed.
Meanwhile, the FDA finally figured out it should let Abbott make formula again, but that doesn’t mean the problem is solved.
Supply chains are incredibly complex and can’t simply be turned off and on whimsically.
It may take weeks before store shelves are stocked again.
For now, the Biden administration is “allowing” baby formula to be imported from European countries — which begs an important question: how did we lose control over our food supply in the first place?
It shouldn’t be the government’s business where we purchase food for our families.
No doubt, “unregulated” European formula is as good as — or better than — anything with an FDA stamp of approval.
The Biden Administration called Operation Fly Formula to get formula delivered faster, but that’s an expensive solution to a problem they shouldn’t have created in the first place.
With a Democrat in the Oval Office, many leftists — like Bette Midler — are suddenly so committed to breast feeding they could be running a Le Leche League group.
But most families shelling out hundreds of dollars for formula every month aren’t doing it for kicks and giggles.
Medication and medical conditions can leave breastmilk unusable or unavailable.
Some babies are adopted or tragically lose their mothers.
Others have mothers who couldn’t keep up with breastfeeding while working long hours – which are only getting longer now thanks to inflation.
Allergies make things even worse with some babies only tolerating special formulas with specific ingredients.
For many families this latest crisis will linger as one of the most traumatic they’ve ever experienced as they lie awake at night wondering how they’ll feed their babies.
And that’s something likely to haunt Joe Biden in November and in 2024.
