Netflix executives just sounded the retreat on show deemed “woke garbage” by Pete Hegseth

Netflix has been Hollywood's biggest pusher of woke propaganda for years.

The streaming giant thought it was untouchable.

But Netflix executives just sounded the retreat on a show deemed "woke garbage" by Pete Hegseth.

Pentagon torches Netflix's latest attempt to inject woke ideology into the military

The woke activists running Netflix thought they'd found the perfect victim story for their liberal audience.

Boots told the tale of a gay Louisiana teenager joining the Marines during the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" era of the 1990s.

The streaming service poured resources into the project – the final show greenlit by legendary liberal producer Norman Lear before his death.

Critics fell all over themselves praising Boots as a "sweet story" that earned a 90 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show brought in 9.4 million viewers during its second week after premiering in October.

Netflix executives were already planning season two when Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's Pentagon delivered a crushing blow.

Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson didn't mince words about what Netflix was trying to pull.

"We will not compromise our standards to satisfy an ideological agenda, unlike Netflix whose leadership consistently produces and feeds woke garbage to their audience and children," Wilson stated.¹

Wilson made clear this wasn't about one TV show – it was about the Trump administration's mission to restore the warrior culture Netflix and Hollywood spent years trying to destroy.

"Under President Trump and Secretary Hegseth, the U.S. military is getting back to restoring the warrior ethos," Wilson explained. "Our standards across the board are elite, uniform, and sex-neutral because the weight of a rucksack or a human being doesn't care if you're a man, a woman, gay, or straight."¹

Defense Secretary Hegseth summoned hundreds of generals and admirals to Quantico in September for a rare meeting where he announced the complete elimination of woke ideology from America's military.

"The era of politically correct, overly sensitive, don't-hurt-anyone's-feelings leadership ends right now," Hegseth told the assembled brass. "No more division, distraction or gender delusions."

Hegseth ordered every branch to restore "the highest male standard only" for combat roles and told commanders they could use "tried and true methods" that Obama-era policies had banned.

Now the Pentagon has sent a clear message to Netflix that its woke agenda had no place near America's armed forces.

Netflix executives immediately sounded the retreat.

Trump's Pentagon just cost Netflix millions of dollars

Boots spent four weeks in Netflix's Top 10 before the streaming service quietly announced the cancellation.

Deadline reported that Sony Pictures Television, which produced the series, pushed hard for a second season.²

Netflix even extended contracts for key cast members while holding internal discussions about renewal.

Then came the decision – Boots was done after one season despite the strong ratings and critical praise.

The timing tells you everything you need to know.

Netflix pulled the plug just two months after the Pentagon publicly trashed the show as "woke garbage."

That's not a coincidence – it's corporate panic.

Netflix needs federal approval for its planned acquisition of Warner Bros.

The streaming service that has a production deal with Barack and Michelle Obama may be thinking a public sacrifice of Boots will help.

Conservative critics have been documenting Netflix's left-wing bias for years.

The company donated 100 percent of its political contributions to Democrats in 2024.

Netflix's own diversity reports openly celebrate discriminating against white directors and actors in favor of "racially underrepresented" candidates.

Writer Paul Rudnick whined on social media about Netflix's "cowardly decision" to cancel Boots.

Cast members posted devastated reactions on Instagram, with one actor joking that "being called woke garbage by the Pentagon" was something he'd "cherish for the rest of my life."

But Netflix executives weren't laughing.

They killed Boots because they realized Hegseth and the Trump administration weren't bluffing about holding woke corporations accountable.

The Pentagon made its position crystal clear – no streaming service gets to push radical leftist propaganda about America's military while expecting favorable treatment on billion-dollar merger deals.

Netflix learned that lesson the expensive way with one canceled season of Boots.
