Newly-filed criminal charges forced Chuck Schumer into a corner as he faces a massive resignation choice

As the Democrat Party, from President Joe Biden all the way to the bottom, continues to face scandals one after the other, these new allegations of corruption and some new criminal charges just forced Chuck Schumer to make a resignation decision.

The Democrat Senator from New Jersey, Bob Menendez, along with his wife were already facing corruption charges for bribery, as well as acting as an ”unregistered foreign agent.”

Menendez was being accused of accepting bribes through gold bars, fat stacks of cash, and even car payments for his wife, in return for sharing sensitive intel about the United States with a foreign government.

Today, the Justice Department has filed a higher priority indictment against the disgraced Senator and his wife for obstruction of justice, conspiracy, extortion, bribery, being a public official acting as a foreign agent, and wire fraud.

According to the indictment, Menendez allegedly fooled his lawyers into telling investigators that he had no idea of a $23,568 payment one of the businessmen indictments connected to Menedez’s charges had possibly been put towards his wife’s car.

The indictment states, “in truth and in fact, and as Menendez well knew, Menendez had learned of both the mortgage company payment and the car payments prior to 2022, and they were not loans, but bribe payments.”

The indictment also mentioned that Menendez’s wife Nadine had actually met with Jose Uribe, who has already pleaded guilty, after police had already searched their home.

Nadine had apparently asked Uribe what he was planning to say about the car.

Uribe allegedly reassured Menendez’s wife that he would falsely claim that the car was a loan, to which Nadine allegedly accepted.

“Nadine Menendez asked Uribe what he would say if he was asked by law enforcement about the car, prosecutors allege,” reported CNN. “Uribe, according to the indictment, told her he would say the payments had been a loan. She agreed that it sounded good, the indictment alleges.”

In the wake of this unsurprisingly hardly covered scandal, Schumer has signaled that he would not pressure Menendez to step down.

The disgraced New Jersey Democrat continues to proclaim his innocence while refusing to resign.

“Not content – or capable – of meeting those facts fairly at trial, the government has now falsely alleged a cover-up and obstruction,” responded Menendez to the charges.

“The latest charge reveals far more about the government than it says about me. It says that the prosecutors are afraid of the facts, scared to subject their charges to the fair-minded scrutiny of a jury, and unconstrained by any sense of justice or fair play,” added the indicted Senator.

“It says, once and for all, that they will stop at nothing in their zeal to get me.”

Not too long ago, Republicans and Democrats came together in order to expel the Congressman from New York, George Santos, due to his indictment on campaign finance violations.

At the same time, Menendez faces charges for acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government, sharing sensitive information regarding an American embassy.

Menendez also, currently, sits on the Committee on Homeland Security in the Senate.

Democrat Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has announced that the Senate would not hold a vote on whether or not to expel the corrupt Senator however.

“The Senate has certain standards that we must live up to,” Schumer ceded. “I am very disappointed that Sen. Menendez has not lived up to those standards.”
