Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich is one of the most well-known figures in all of American politics.
In 1995, Time magazine named him “Man of the Year” for authoring the “Contract with America,” which ended “the four-decades long Democratic majority in the House” the previous year.
But no one expected Newt Gingrich to say this about the potential of a Joe Biden Presidency.
Even though he fits the definition of a political insider to a tee, Newt Gingrich has been one of political outsider President Trump’s biggest supporters over the past four years.
And despite so many other Republicans jumping ship with Joe Biden claiming to be the President-elect, Newt Gingrich is doubling down on his support for President Trump.
In fact, in a new op-ed he wrote for The Washington Post, titled “Why I will not accept Joe Biden as President,” Newt Gingrich took the gloves off on Biden, possibly dealing him his largest blow in the post-election world.
And instead of focusing on voter fraud, Gingrich leaves that issue aside and instead talks about how nasty, extreme and vindictive the radical Left is in modern politics.
“As I thought about it, I realized my anger and fear were not narrowly focused on votes,” Gingrich says, explaining that he wrote the article in response to a “smart” liberal friend of his asking him why he hasn’t recognized Joe Biden as the President-elect.
“My unwillingness to relax and accept that the election grew out of a level of outrage and alienation unlike anything I had experienced in more than 60 years involvement in public affairs,” Gingrich goes on to say before explaining how the Left is now living in completely “alternative worlds” from him and others.
“My world is the populist rebellion which believes we are being destroyed, our liberties are being cancelled and our religions are under assault. We also believe other Democrat-led COVID-19 policies have enriched the wealthy while crushing middle class small business owners,” said Gingrich.
Gingrich then goes on to cite several examples of the Left living in “alternate worlds,” such as how 70 Democrat Members of Congress boycotted Trump’s inauguration and how Madonna talked about dreaming of “blowing up the White House” at a left-wing protest just hours before Antifa thugs attacked Washington, D.C.
In conclusion, Gingrich says he is “not reacting to the votes so much as to the whole election environment” by refusing to recognize Joe Biden as President should he assume the office in January.
