NYC voters stunned after resurfaced statement from the Big Apple’s Mayor-elect indicates the awful future ahead

A resurfaced 2020 tweet exposes the new NYC Mayor-elect’s radical agenda, leaving voters stunned and fearing a socialist transformation of the city.

A damning 2020 tweet just resurfaced that exposes the radical views of New York City’s likely next mayor.

The shocking social media post reveals the true extremist agenda behind his campaign mask.

And NYC voters are stunned after this resurfaced statement from the Big Apple’s Mayor-elect left everyone shaking in fear.

Democrat Socialist Steamrolls Cuomo in Shocking Primary Upset

Former Governor Andrew Cuomo conceded New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary to self-described Democratic Socialist state Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani on Tuesday night, delivering a devastating blow to the Democrat establishment.

The 33-year-old Queens lawmaker racked up commanding leads across Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan, leaving political insiders shell-shocked by the complete collapse of Cuomo’s comeback bid.

After 91% of votes were counted in the primary’s first round, Mamdani had 43.5% of the vote, while Cuomo was at 36.4%, according to preliminary results from the city Board of Elections.

Andrew Cuomo told supporters on Tuesday it’s "not our night" as early first-round results showed Zohran Mamdani with a commanding lead, marking the end of one of the most humiliating political collapses in New York history.

The former governor’s political obituary was written by voters who rejected his toxic brand of corruption and scandal for a radical socialist who promises even worse – to turn New York City into a far-left dystopia.

Mamdani addressed supporters at his campaign headquarters after taking a commanding lead in the NYC Democratic primary for mayor, declaring victory in a race that few believed he could win just months ago.

Mamdani’s Radical Agenda Will Destroy NYC

The 33-year-old assemblyman isn’t hiding his extremist views from voters.

Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist from Queens who is running for mayor, wants to raise New York City’s minimum wage to $30 an hour by 2030, a job-killing policy that will devastate small businesses and force automation.

His platform reads like a socialist manifesto designed to bankrupt the city and drive out businesses.

Mamdani is running for Mayor to lower the cost of living for working class New Yorkers through radical policies including freezing the rent for all stabilized tenants and creating city-run grocery stores.

The assemblyman also wants to make city buses free, provide universal childcare, and build 200,000 new affordable housing units – all funded by massive tax increases on businesses and wealthy residents.

According to multiple reports, Mamdani supports raising corporate taxes in New York State and implementing a new income tax increase for city residents earning over $1 million annually.

His economic agenda would make New York City unlivable for anyone who actually creates jobs and pays taxes.

Damning Tweet Exposes Mamdani’s Anti-Police Extremism

A resurfaced June 2020 tweet from Mamdani reveals the shocking extent of his anti-police radicalism and exposes his current campaign as a complete fraud.

"We don’t need an investigation to know that the NYPD is racist, anti-queer & a major threat to public safety. What we need is to #DefundTheNYPD. But your deal with @NYCMayor uses budget tricks to keep as many cops as possible on the beat. NO to fake cuts – defund the police," Mamdani wrote on Twitter.

The tweet completely destroys his current moderate facade and proves he’s willing to say anything to win power.

In 2020, when Mamdani first ran for office, he supported the "defund the police" movement, but has repeatedly said during his mayoral campaign that he won’t cut financing for law enforcement, showing his willingness to abandon core beliefs for political convenience.

His social media history includes other radical anti-police statements, though the specific quotes about "Queer liberation means defund the police" and "Defunding the police is a feminist issue" that have been attributed to him in campaign materials need verification.

Yet he does not support hiring more officers at the New York Police Department, which he has previously characterized as a "major threat to public safety."

Mamdani proposes creating what he calls a "Department of Public Safety" that would deploy social workers and mental health professionals to handle certain emergency calls instead of police officers.

The "Barista Proletariat" Takes Over NYC

Mamdani’s victory represents the triumph of what political analyst Michael Barone calls the "barista proletariat" – young, educated leftists who work in temporary service jobs while gaming welfare systems.

Political analyst Michael Barone describes Mamdani’s base as what he calls the "barista proletariat" – young voters with college degrees working temporary service jobs who tend to live in gentrified outer-borough neighborhoods like Astoria, Queens, and parts of Brooklyn.

This demographic has become increasingly influential in Democrat primaries across major cities, representing a shift away from traditional working-class coalitions toward educated but economically precarious young voters.

This radical base gave Mamdani the grassroots army he needed to overwhelm Cuomo’s traditional Democrat coalition.

State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani has also emerged as a major contender for the nomination, winning key endorsements from U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, showing how the far-left has taken control of the Democrat Party.

What This Means for America

Mamdani’s shocking victory sends a chilling message about the direction of the Democrat Party under President Trump’s second term.

If elected, Mamdani would be the city’s first Muslim and Indian-American mayor and would implement the most radical agenda in New York City’s modern history.

Certainly, Mamdani seems the favorite to win in November, especially with incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat who decided to run as an independent amid a public uproar over his indictment on corruption charges splitting the moderate vote.

The prospect of a socialist mayor running America’s financial capital while President Trump tries to restore the economy represents a direct confrontation between capitalism and socialism on the biggest stage in American politics.

Mamdani wants to dramatically expand government control over New York’s economy through massive tax increases and socialist programs that would fundamentally transform how the city operates.

New York City voters just elected a radical who promises to turn their city into a socialist experiment while President Trump works to make America great again.

The contrast couldn’t be more stark – and the consequences for both New York and America couldn’t be more severe.
