Trump supporters are starting to ask questions about Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Bondi came into the cabinet with big talk and big promises.
And Pam Bondi faces this big test after two Deep State leakers just got caught red handed.
Deep State leakers referred for criminal prosecution
In President Trump’s first term, Deep State leakers fed classified information to the news media in a sabotage campaign as part of a coup attempt to drive Trump from office.
The worst example occurred before Trump even took office when someone in the Deep State committed a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison when they leaked the fact that incoming National Security Advisor Michael Flynn got picked up on a FISA intercept of the Russian ambassador’s phone.
Flynn was having the type of routine conversation an incoming national security official would have with a top diplomat, but the media spun it up into the Russia collusion hoax.
Classified leaks then appeared on the front page of the paper on a daily basis.
No one was ever punished.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard corrected that problem.
Gabbard announced on social media she was sending criminal referrals for two Deep State leakers to the Justice Department of prosecution.
“Today, I referred two intelligence community LEAKS to the Department of Justice for criminal referral, with a third criminal referral on its way, which includes the recent illegal leak to the Washington Post,” Gabbard began.
Gabbard identified these leakers as anti-Trump partisans disclosing classified information to serve their political agenda, actions Gabbard said wouldn’t be tolerated.
The Director of National Intelligence then made it clear the ball was in the Justice Department and FBI’s court to bring criminal charges.
“These deep-state criminals leaked classified information for partisan political purposes to undermine POTUS’ agenda. I look forward to working with @TheJusticeDept and @FBI to investigate, terminate and prosecute these criminals,” Gabbard concluded.
The leakers allegedly passed along classified information to the leftist Washington Post and New York Times to generate anit-Trump stories.
Fox News reported that an official inside the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said “that the intelligence community professionals allegedly leaked classified information to the Washington Post and the New York Times. A third criminal referral is ‘on its way’ to the DOJ.”
The administration intended to send a message with this prosecution.
“We are aggressively investigating other leaks and will pursue further criminal referrals as warranted,” the official added. “Any intelligence community bureaucrat who is considering leaking to the media should take this as a warning.”
The official said the administration wanted the message out that it “will identify leakers and leakers will face legal consequences.”
Now it’s up to Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Bondi already botched the release of the Epstein files.
The Attorney General made a big show of going on Fox News and telling viewers that the files were sitting on her desk.
But when it came time for the reveal, all Bondi released were documents from a decade ago that had already been made public.
This is yet another test for Bondi.
