Pam Bondi just learned one regret Donald Trump has about nominating her to his cabinet

Following weeks of endless torment before Senate committees, Donald Trump saw his entire cabinet make it through – but he has one awful regret surrounding his pick for Attorney General.

The United States Senate confirmed Pam Bondi to serve as Donald Trump’s Attorney General.

She now holds the hefty responsibility of cleaning out rogue officials who have spent years weaponizing the government against conservatives.

But Pam Bondi just learned one regret Donald Trump has about nominating her to his cabinet.

Donald Trump laments Matt Gaetz withdrawal from nomination

Pam Bondi was not President Donald Trump’s original pick for the top law enforcement official in the United States.

He had originally selected former Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) to serve as his Attorney General.

Trump saw Gaetz as a critical ally in key fights, particularly those involving funding the endless war in Ukraine and the multiple bogus impeachment cases manufactured during his first term.

Gaetz was a leading advocate to end the warrantless spying by government agencies, which the Deep State relied on to go after Trump’s campaign.

President Trump believed that, with Gaetz serving as his Attorney General, he would purge the Department of Justice (DOJ) of prosecutors that ignored their duties to solely feed the Deep State with endless attempts to jail him.

He also trusted that Gaetz would fire those involved with the lawfare harassment of his supporters after January 6, putting an end to Section 702 of the FISA Act which provides the government the ability to spy on Americans without obtaining a warrant, and shut down the warmongering efforts to keep the war in Ukraine ongoing for eternity.

But it was because of RINOs in the Swamp, like Mitch McConnell, who felt the heat of a potential Gaetz confirmation and decided to shut it down early on.

These Senate RINO’s came together in order to lock Gaetz out of his nomination, and they used the bogus House Ethics Committee report as justification.

This report compiled a list of false allegations – which have several times over been debunked – and was the same material that the Biden administration used to keep negative news coverage up about the Florida Congressman while refusing to press charges.

Just a week after his nomination by Trump to serve as Attorney General, however, Gaetz withdrew his name from consideration, arguing that he did not want to become a distraction for the work being done by the President.

“I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday,” started Gaetz with his unfortunate announcement. “I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many.”

“While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition,” he explained.

Gaetz did note that, although he was stepping aside from his nomination for Attorney General, he planned to give everything he could to assist the Trump-Vance administration.

“There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus, I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General,” Gaetz noted. “Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1.”

“I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history,” he continued.

“I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice, and I’m certain he will save America,” concluded Gaetz.

But Trump has started to show signs that he is unsure that Gaetz stepping aside was the right decision.

So far, every one of his nominees with the toughest odds of confirmation have succeeded, despite the efforts of RINOs in the Swamp.

Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, and RFK, Jr. all faced a grueling confirmation process but ultimately made it onto Trump’s cabinet.

Trump is asking himself if he had pushed Gaetz to keep fighting onward, perhaps his base could have provided the same assistance they gave with the other nominations – threatening to run primaries against Senators who voted against – to see Gaetz making through confirmation.

The Daily Beast covered the President’s reaction, reporting, “The President has told aides that he believes Gaetz would have ultimately been confirmed in spite of senators’ concerns about the former congressman’s sexual misconduct allegations.”

“The President has said he now feels they could have gotten Matt through,” argued a source from the White House. “He feels bad for him.”

But Pam Bondi has been officially appointed to head the DOJ and will ultimately serve as Donald Trump’s Attorney General.

And that isn’t stopping Gaetz from remaining positive and optimistic about what is to come.

“We got an upgrade: @PamBondi,” posted Gaetz on his social media account.
