Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi faces Senate confirmation hearings

Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, Pam Bondi, was forced to deal with relentless questioning by far-left Democrats.

Bondi was the second choice for Donald Trump to head the Department of Justice after his initial selection, former Congressman Matt Gaetz, was dragged through the mud during a disgusting smear campaign led by the Democrat-controlled media.

Pam Bondi currently serves as the Attorney General for the state of Florida, being the first woman to hold that position, and boasts a strong, two decade long record as a prosecutor.

She also has a long history as a supporter of Donald Trump.

During Trump’s first impeachment trial, Pam Bondi served as his defense lawyer and even co-chaired Women for Trump during his 2020 re-election campaign.

“For too long, the partisan Department of Justice has been weaponized against me and other Republicans – Not anymore,” declared Trump during his announcement that he would be nominating Bondi for Attorney General.

“Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime, and Making America Safe Again,” added President Trump. “I have known Pam for many years – She is smart and tough, and is an AMERICA FIRST Fighter, who will do a terrific job as Attorney General!” 

During her opening statement, Bondi made it clear that she believed “the American people expect and deserve more” from the Department of Justice.

She also guaranteed that she “will do everything in my power, and it will be my great responsibility to make America safe again.”

“I will fight every day to restore confidence and integrity to the Department of Justice and each of its components, the partisanship, the weaponization will be gone,” declared the Florida prosecutor. “America will have one tier of justice for all.”

Democrat Senators attempt to spar with Bondi

During her hearing, multiple Democrats took turns attempting to catch Bondi slipping up.

Newly elected Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) found himself humiliated after his failure to catch her on her back foot.

But it was Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) who took the cake for the worst attempt at a “got ya” question so far, sending the internet into a frenzy.

“It would not be appropriate for a prosecutor to start with a name and look for a crime?” staged Whitehouse setting up his attack. 

“It’s a prosecutor’s job to start with a crime and look for a name, correct?” he interjected.

Bondi took the moment to destroy the radical Rhode Island Senator by bringing up the endless lawfare set on by Joe Biden against Donald Trump.

“Senator, I think that is the whole problem with the weaponization that we have seen the last four years and what’s been happening to Donald Trump,” she resolved. 

But Bondi didn’t stop there.

She tore into Joe Biden after how he “targeted” and relentlessly “went after” Donald Trump.

“They targeted Donald Trump, they went after him, actually starting back in 2016, they targeted his campaign, they have launched countless investigations against him – that will not be the case,” she added.

“If I am attorney general, I will not politicize that office, I will not target people simply because of their political affiliation,” continued Bondi. “Justice will be administered evenhandedly throughout this country.” 

“Senator, we’ve got to bring this country back together,” she concluded. “We’ve got to move forward, or we’re going to lose our country.”

While Bondi enjoyed massive amounts of praise for weathering the attempts by left-wing Senators to catch her off guard, she still has a few positions that are raising concerns for conservatives.

During her tenure as Attorney General for Florida, she backed the proposed ban on bump stocks, supported the ban of firearm ownership by 18-20 year olds, and endorsed red-flag gun grab laws.

The American Firearms Association raised the alarm over her anti-Second Amendment positions.

Pam Bondi’s Senate confirmation hearing extended into a multiple-day affair, but she is expected to survive a likely vote on Wednesday in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
