The Joe Biden Presidency has inarguably produced some whopper-sized failures.
But one has undoubtedly defined the anti-American Biden legacy more than any other.
And now a Marine Vets response to questioning from a Republican Congressman exposed a historic failure and sent Joe Biden into a tailspin.
It didn’t take President Joe Biden long into his time in office to put his incompetence and failed leadership on display for the world to see.
One of his first major foreign policy actions as President was his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, which led to the deaths of countless American soldiers, civilians, and Afghan allies who aided the U.S. effort.
And now that Democrats no longer have total control over the U.S. House, Congressional Republicans are finally getting to the bottom of Biden’s debacle.
During a recent House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on the Biden regime’s actions in Afghanistan, a U.S. Marine Corps sniper – who lost his leg after the suicide bomber attack on the Kabul International Airport during the withdrawal – explained exactly why “the withdrawal was a catastrophe.”
Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews told the Committee that he was denied permission to shoot the suicide bomber who took the lives of 13 American soldiers and countless others that day.
“Plain and simple, we were ignored,” Sgt. Vargas-Andrews explained. “Our expertise was disregarded. No one was held accountable for our safety… The withdrawal was a catastrophe, in my opinion. There was an inexcusable lack of accountability.”

In response to the American Hero’s testimony, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) was incensed, and labeled President Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan one of the “worst foreign policy failures” in U.S. history.
Republicans previously released a report last year, in which they called Biden’s Afghanistan debacle “strategic failure,” skewering the regime for not having the foresight to plan for the obviously very real eventuality that the Taliban would use the occasion to fill the power vacuum and regain control of the nation – as they did.
For their part, the Biden regime has defended their actions by simply continuously claiming anyone who criticizes their incompetence is apparently somehow making the whole debacle up.
The regime leaked a memo in response to House Republicans last year in which they claimed the GOP report was “riddled with inaccurate characterizations, cherry-picked information, and false claims.”
And of course, it wouldn’t be a Democrat propaganda campaign in 2023 unless the Biden regime also attempted to blame former President Donald Trump for their failures.
According to the Biden regime’s version of events, a 2020 agreement between the Trump administration and the Taliban “empowered the Taliban, weakened our partners in the Afghan government, and committed to withdrawing our troops a few months after President Biden’s inauguration – with no clear plan for what should come next.”
Of course, that excuse simply ignores the fact that if that were indeed the case, President Biden should have never moved forward with the withdrawal.
It also ignores the fact that Biden’s debacle didn’t occur until the end of August – a full seven months after he took office – so if he thought it was a bad idea, there was plenty of time change course.
Instead, President Biden actively chose to move forward with the withdrawal, planning and overseeing its ultimately failed execution.
The fact that Biden’s lack of planning led to the disaster that killed over a dozen American soldiers was exposed in a previous report from Axios, who revealed that the day Taliban forces entered Kabul in the lead up the suicide bombing, the Biden regime was still trying to come up with evacuation plans.
Rep. McCaul responded to the Biden regime’s memo by saying that its claims were “demonstrably false, and are clear attempts to rewrite history in an effort to sweep one of the worst foreign policy failures in American history under the rug.”
Additionally, the Biden State Department is attempting to run interference on Republicans’ investigation into the matter by withholding documents requested by the Committee.
One such document is a classified cable 23 American diplomats sent to Biden Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in which they warned that the Afghan government would collapse should the U.S. move forward with the withdrawal as the regime planned.
The Biden regime has repeatedly claimed that it was a total surprise when the Afghan government collapsed, and that they had no idea that would happen.
With a looming report from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction reportedly set to blame the Biden regime’s pathetic planning and execution for the debacle, the bad news is piling up for Joe Biden.
And that’s the last thing he needs heading into 2024.
