Prince William seems to be running out of patience with the ongoing antics of Prince Harry.
Now tensions between the two royals are starting to boil over.
And Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made one awful move that had Prince William raising hell.
Prince William angered by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Nigeria
Prince Harry and his B-list actress wife Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to the United States.
By doing so, they forfeited many of the privileges that come with being in the Royal Family.
But they are trying everything they can to try and remain relevant.
Recently, Harry and Markle were invited to Nigeria by the country’s top military officials.
The couple’s trip to Nigeria had all the trappings of an official royal visit.
And that didn’t sit well with members of the Royal Family.
Royal family expert Tom Quinn told the Mirror that Markle and Harry’s Nigeria trip clearly ruffled feathers back in the United Kingdom.
He said the trip “confirmed the worst fears” of the Royal Family and left both King Charles and Prince William “absolutely furious.”
“Everything you might expect from an official royal visit was there — the receptions, the visits to schools and charities, to wounded soldiers and the disabled,” Quinn said. “Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him.”
The United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office was even forced to remind the Daily Mail that Harry and Markle were “visiting Nigeria in a private capacity” and the British government wasn’t “arranging or facilitating” their travels.
Markle called Nigeria “my country” during a Women in Leadership event she attended.
Harry and Meghan send a message to the Royal Family with Nigeria trip
Harry and Markle continue to have a famously tense relationship with the Royal Family.
And Quinn said that the Nigeria trip was yet another sign they had gone “rogue.”
“Meghan and Harry’s speeches and their whole attitude has been designed to give the impression that they are still fully paid-up royals,” Quinn explained.
King Charles and Prince William “don’t like that one bit,” according to Quinn.
During the trip Harry met with wounded members of the country’s military, and the couple met with Nigerian school children.
The trip was a royal visit in everything but name.
“It’s as if Harry and Meghan have gone rogue – their Nigeria trip is a bold statement that they refuse to accept they are no longer working royals,” Quinn explained.
It appears that the couple will continue to do whatever they want without regard to the Royal Family.
“For Charles and William, it’s as if Meghan and Harry are saying, ‘We don’t need your permission to be working royals — we will do it on our own terms whenever and wherever we like,’” Quinn continued. “William and Charles are scratching their heads and thinking, ‘How are we going to control this nightmare situation?’”
The trip also generated bad press for Harry and Meghan when they took a picture with a Nigerian citizen who’s a wanted fugitive in the United States for stealing millions of dollars.
It appears Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are hell-bent on burning all their bridges with the Royal Family.
