Representative Liz Cheney has been coming under fire in conservative circles for her vote to impeach former President Trump.
Many in the Republican Party have been demanding her to be kicked from her leadership posts in the House.
But RINO Liz Cheney showed her true colors when she made this one request of the GOP.
Recently, Republicans in the House of Representatives met for a four hour long caucus to discuss the future of Liz Cheney in the House – specifically whether she would remain a Republican in leadership as the number three GOP ranking member.
The longtime Trump supporters in Congressmen Matt Rosendale (R-MT) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) even started a petition to kick Cheney out of her GOP ranking roles.
However, according to reports, Cheney absolutely refused to back down from her vote to impeach President Trump and implied that her fellow Republicans were lying if they didn’t vote for impeachment by saying it was a vote of “principle” and “honesty.”
“I think it is truly important that we not become the party that outlaws conscience,” Cheney declared during the meeting. “Several members have asked me to apologize for the vote, they’ve asked my colleagues who also voted to impeach to apologize for the vote. I owe you honesty, I owe you the truth, I cannot do that. It was a vote of conscience. It was a vote of principle—a principle on which I stand and still believe. Some people have said I should apologize for my statement or for the timing or for the content of it, and I tell you again, I cannot do that. I believe that my oath, I believe that all of our oaths, is more important than politics or partisanship or political pressure.”
That’s when Cheney showed her true colors.
Cheney demanded a vote in the GOP to determine her fate in the House of Representatives.
The vote – which was held in secret – naturally favored Cheney with Washington, D.C. cronies not wanting to “rock the boat” and save face for their own seats.
The vote landed in Cheney’s favor 145-61.
But Liz Cheney isn’t off the hook.
Back in Wyoming, Cheney is facing a 73 percent disapproval rating among Republicans and is already behind 30 points to a primary challenger.
And Wyoming Republicans recently censured Cheney over her RINO antics.
