It seems Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis can’t so much as get out of bed in the morning without triggering the radical Left.
But that hasn’t stopped him from moving onward making the Sunshine State a blueprint for every other state to follow.
And now America’s Governor can’t wipe the smile off his face as his momentum continues to grow.
Following a lackluster showing from the GOP in the 2022 Midterms, the stakes are high for 2024.
And the top prize in the next election cycle is the White House.
And in the early goings of the contest, the Republican nomination is already starting to look like a two-man race.
Former President Donald Trump wasted little time following the 2022 Midterms in announcing his third bid for the Oval Office.
At the moment, the 45th President of the United States is running unopposed – but it’s unlikely things will stay that way, as a host of other candidates have been rumored around the Beltway to be eying potential runs.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, and ex-Congresswoman Liz Cheney are all names that have been swirling around as possible 2024 GOP presidential hopefuls.
But there’s only one name that is currently posing any challenge to Trump’s path back to the capital – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
And the momentum for America’s Governor is growing at a rapid pace.
Two new polls have been freshly released measuring 2024 strength.
Marquette University looked into a hypothetical DeSantis vs. Trump one-on-one GOP primary contest.
Republican voters in the poll went with Florida’s Governor over the former President by a huge margin – 64%-36%, giving DeSantis a 28-point lead.
Both men scored very high favorability ratings with respondents, +61 for DeSantis, and +42 for Trump.
And Marquette also asked to see which candidate would fare better against President Joe Biden in a 2024 hypothetical general election.
In a 2020 re-match, Trump and Biden tie with 40% support each.
However, Biden isn’t so lucky against America’s Governor.
DeSantis took a 7-point advantage over President Biden, 45%-38%.
And the good news doesn’t stop there for Florida’s head-of-state.
The University of New Hampshire has also released a new poll looking at the GOP primary in the first in the nation primary state.
Much like the Marquette poll, UNH found DeSantis pulling ahead of Trump.
DeSantis scored 42% of first place support, compared to 30% for Trump.
They were the only candidates to tally double-digits.
Coming in a very distant third was Nikki Haley at just 8%, followed by the Granite State’s own Gov. Chris Sununu at 4%.
RINO’s ex-Rep. Liz Cheney and the former Governor of Maryland Larry Hogan also garnered 4% support in the survey.
Gov. Noem of South Dakota scored 2%.
Meanwhile, Pence and Senators Cruz and Sen. Marco Rubio all sit with just a single percent.
Pompeo, Sen. Scott and Gov. Youngkin failed to receive any support in the poll.
While the Republican side is quickly shaping up to be a two-man affair, it still remains to be seen if DeSantis will decide to join the race for the White House, or if he’s content to continue delivering for Florida residents.
